This has been on my wishlist for some time, but I think it's now at the ATL price. I got mine yesterday, and I love it. The call quality (at least the built-in mic) is far superior to some of my other earphones/earbuds.

  • Is the move good for cycling?

They are good for running, walk, other gym things that fit people do (not me) etc but I think the back strap could interfere with your bike helmet as it sticks out a bit. It's like you are wearing glasses but backwards.

I'd look for a pair of Audio Glasses for Cycling. I have some bose frame tempo's and absolutely love them, even have cycling condition specific lenses you can swap out too however they're now discontinued… mine still work so haven't had to look for an alternative yet but I can't go back from audio glasses .

I bought these for cycling and would not recommend. As smarter_fool says above, it is annoying with a bike helmet. If you put them on first, the helmet strap won't get tight enough and moves the unit around. If you put them on over the helmet straps, it's a bit better, but my straps run along where the conduction goes so your helmet may vary.

Also, the wind noise will drown out a lot of the sound from this. No hope with a podcast or audiobook, but music comes through somewhat OK.

If I were to try again, I would try an open ear, non bone-conduction type of unit but don't have experience with anything yet to recommend.

It is my preferred headset for Teams/Zoom when WFH as it feels more natural to speak and hear your voice clearly. I've been told the mic sound quality is very good on the other end as well.

Bose NC headphones have self-voice, but I've found that very distracting and it affects the mic sound quality.

Agree with nickeveli - this is perfect for Home Office use and any bone conduction device will struggle in noisy and windy environments.

Thanks for sharing! Was considering bone conduction for cycling but might give it a miss. I'll give my Soundpeats Air 3's a go next time I'm out (open ear earbuds).

As Nickeveli says, it's very helmet dependent.
Using my Kask roadie helmet, I have to have the headphones on the outside of the helmet straps. On my MTB helmet, they sit comfortably under the straps without issue.
In both cases, audio is perfect and no better/worse than when I run with them.
The only time I find it particularly annoying is out on a long run with my "flappy hat" on as the flap (particularly if drenched in sweat" weighs on the band at the back.

Echoing others. I have the OpenRun and it works perfect for walks and runs in quiet neighborhood. When I start running on busier roads, with the cars and wind noise, it gets very hard to focus on podcast even on maximum volume. I'm sure on a bike, the wind noise would be even louder.

I have the Openrun (not pro) model and use it all the time for cycling. I have no issue with my helmet.

Sure, the wind and road noise can sometimes drown out what I'm listening to but the huge upside is being able to hear my surroundings. Can absolutely recommend!

  • Any issues with glasses?

    • None - you just put on the headset first and then your glasses.

    • Some glasses can slip off - I had this issue with another pair of glasses but the headphones were so good I got a new pair of glasses instead.

  • Just a heads up, the OpenMove model didn't fit my fat head, and I had to return them for the Openrun, YMMV.

I find they're handy for listening to podcasts, and use them regularly around the house, work, cafe, etc, so I can still hear my surroundings, or atmosphere when I want or need to.
