Best Way to Apply an India Credit Card or Debit Card

I need an Indian card to pay my Indian YouTube Premium.

I tried Wise card. India account doesn't have card only can do transfer. Australian account card doesn't work with the Indian YouTube payment

Go to Melbourne's western suburbs - plenty of hot Indian singles in Tarneit, Wyndham Vale, Werribee, etc..

iirc even if you get past this hurdle, there is other requirement including photo id confirmation.

Do you have any financial or family ties in India to get an Indian bank account?

If not it will be very very difficult to get an Indian account so you can get a debit/credit card

Microsoft helpline could hook you up with someone over there

          • @RichardF89: Another possible way is to actually sign up for YT premium using apple ID that is located in Turkey….

            • @Duckie2hh: How to create a new AppleID… I continually get rejected.

              • @ESEMCE: Contact help desk and get them to "reset" your account/details. After this, the new apple ID creation worked for me.

@RichardF89: This is how I did it more than a year ago -
            1. On Amazon app, switch to India, buy Google Play gift card.
            2. Go to play.google.com, login with your account that's used for YT India.
            3. Go to play.google.com/redeem and redeem the gift card purchased from Amazon.
            4. On YT, use Google play balance as your preferred payment method.

They deducted the next year payment from the play credit.
I can't think of a reason why it won't work for my next year's payment as long as my Google Play has enough credits.

  • Change country, not worth the hassle to sign up for India credit card lol

    • doesn't work for me

      • I mean don't use India youtube, change to Kazakhstan for ~$15 per month for family. More than half the price of Australia.

Just because it's India (or any other country) doesn't mean the banking systems work that much differently than ours. To open an account/credit card they need to know who you are and do a credit check - so you don't do fraud or not pay off your debt. That's common sense.

For the same reason you can't get a US credit card from here, you can't get an Indian one.

Honestly your best bet is to ask an actual indian expat to use theirs, assuming they keep their Indian accounts - someone who sends or receives money back to India.

  • You can’t get an Indian debit/credit card as a foreigner.
You can get one if you are a NRI (Non Resident Indian) - Indian citizen not living in India or a OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) - foreigner having an Indian permanent resident visa.
Even if you get one it will be mostly useless because the next move for these services is they will stop accepting debit/credit cards and the only option to pay will be with UPI ( Unified Payments Interface) a payment system that will only work with a Indian mobile number.

If you have family/extended family in India, ask them to pay and transfer money to them or buy gifts when you visit them
