    • Great find.

Though, I'm not sure if I want 240 tablets on a subscription

Wagner Super Bio-Magnesium (also 500mg) x 100 tablets is only $9.09 (also at CW) - much cheeper. Ethical nutrients is an expensive brand.

    • +6

This is a different type of magnesium, but I'm not a doctor or a scientist.

Wagner has Heavy magnesium oxide and Ethical Nutrients has magnesium glycinate

Apparently magnesium glycinate and magnesium threonate (which is even more expensive) is more easily absorbed by the body and therefore more effective.

Taking magnesium glycinate would be a better option as it's much easier to be absorbed by our body (80% compared to 2% for the normal form. read somewhere but can't remember the source), it also improves sleep quality.

  • Has anyone noticed that these changed in appearance a while back? They used to be pale blue, but then turned white with blue speckles.

A good price, but I think you got the tablet dosage info wrong. I remember reading somewhere (!) that the recommended daily dose is 300-400mg of Magnesium. These tablets have 200mg. The product details says:

    Each tablet contains:
Magnesium glycinate dihydrate, (Meta Mag® - Magnesium diglycinate) 500mg
    Equiv. Magnesium 50mg
    Magnesium amino acid chelate 750mg
    Equiv. Magnesium 150mg
    etc (other stuff)

    • Maybe I am tired…thanks, will update the deal.

I've heard Magnesium supplements can help with getting a good night's rest

  • Can anyone tell me the difference between this and 500mg Mag-Sup which is about half this price? I have been told by the doctor to take 2X 500mg Mag-Sup (Morning and Night) per day.

    • +2

Please listen to your doctor's instructions.

But at a glance, Mag-Sup is smaller dosage (37.4mg per tablet) and has a different type of magnesium in it. I'm sure your doctor will know more, and that's why he recommended that one to you.
