40

Been looking for something in this 61-key sizing that's not too expensive and compact enough for playing in my home office and settled on this. Found a nice deal and thought I'd share as it typically goes for around $250 elsewhere.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro looking for just the right controls or are looking to get started with the right USB MIDI controller, the M-Audio Keystation 61 mk3 is a simple, powerful MIDI controller designed for sequencing music and playing virtual instruments on your Mac or PC. Keystation 61 MK3 features 61 semi-weighted full-size velocity-sensitive keys and comprehensive controls that expand the range of playable notes, expressive capabilities, and enhance your recording workflow.

Where's my free MIDI keyboard that @ahmeni promised me?!?!?!?!

But yeah, price is a fairly key component of shopping in general.

      • LOL. Yeah, I thought this was a freebie too.

Shame, between my wife and I, we have a guitar and electronic drum kit… could have done with a keyboard too.

spent like 10 minutes checking how other people formatted the "free for metro delivery" style formatting and somehow managed to forget the most important thing. earning my L plate for sure

Picked one up from Mannys not too long ago for $249. Absolutely worth it for the semi-weighted full keys. Admittedly, I've only owned M-Audio and Akai keyboards in the past… hated how Akai handles velocity on their keyboards.

The price son, tell us the price!

  • Kids (low double digit ages) interested in trying keyboard/piano.
This, or something more like an entry level digital piano for a first timer?

Generally for learning classic piano you're looking at the entry level digital pianos, primarily because they've got the proper weighted keys behind them and they're able to be played independently (this is a MIDI controller and can't play any audio by itself). Keys like these are alright but your kid practicing on them will develop different muscle memory than playing on their teacher's piano and it can add to frustration. The best bet for kids is to get a couple trial lessons under their belt and then look for another parent on FB Marketplace who pulled the trigger too early and find something decent and used around the $400 - $500 mark.

      • Thanks, will keep hunting for black friday digital piano deas
