Stream deck with 8 buttons, 4 dials+buttons and touch strip/LED display.

This is an ATL for the white, and a near ATL for the black.

For those people about to quote the $109 white elephant and the $216 previous deals, I have one word for you. Knobs (the stream deck plus has them). Both of those deals were pricing errors, were rapidly expired and limited numbers were honoured. But, if you do want to tell us about them yet again, go wild! In the meantime, this is about as good as it gets for anyone who wants one now.

I'm grabbing a second one because the first is built into my gaming rig (it has been excellent), and I want one for desktop use as well. Expensive for a button box, but also fire and forget from my personal experience and reviews and user posts about it on reddit.Cheap compared to a 15 button stream deck if you also want the rotaries. And the software has been getting substantially better over the last year as well.

I suppose you could also use it for streaming if that's your thing.

If you want to have the stream deck behave like a controller, see https://github.com/ashupp/Streamdeck-vJoy and https://github.com/bastianh/streamdeck-vjoy-w4rl0ck (so far I've been good with hotkey mappings).

I recently got the amazon deal for a portable monitor for $20 and its been awesome just behind my keyboard and i was thinking how a touch screen one would be sick for things like what stream decks do but then the benefit of a video screen etc too

So yea id recommend looking into a touch screen usb c monitor, much cheaper and does so much more

There's something to be said about the tactility of physical buttons though. It's the same way a physical keyboard is nicer/quicker to type on than a touchscreen.

        Much less errors with physical

      • I have my regular stream deck in between my split keyboard. Wouldn't be able to fit a screen there.

Very handy for all the various hotkeys and shortcuts.
The physical nature also helps since you don't have to look.

    • The deck buttons aren't great - a bit squishy for my liking, but the rotaries plus the deck software make it. You can have unlimited pages, you can create alternate operations on the rotaries with dial stacks, and you can automate profiles on a per application basis.

The hardware is good to great. The combined software/hardware and the various plugins push it over the edge for me.

  • Damn, now I want to replace my Loupedeck Live with this..

Tis the ozb curse eh? Something new comes up and you're like… Yeah, that'd be nice…

      • It is less than half price.. 😅 Very do-able just the effort to list and sell.

Maybe dedicate it to video/image editing and just grab this for everyday/gaming.

        • The one thing I would say about gaming - it works incredibly well if it's integrated with something like a wheel or a flightstick. I'm not sure how well it will work with keyboard+mouse and/or controller games - it's always a reach away/out action to hit a button or the touch strip, and the rotaries are sensitive (multiple clicks with small moves - probably not good for twitch gaming).

I mean I'm going to find out, but my expectation is that utility will be higher for day to day stuff rather than gaming.
