Do I need 32GB RAM for regular task such as internet browsing (12-20 tabs) and MS Office suite and sometime video editing (non pro.) and won't be playing any games on this laptop.

    • You don't need it but I wouldn't touch anything without 32gb of RAM if its your primary work station and you want to have a heap of chrome and a heap of decent sized spreadsheets open / running multiple displays.

It sucks because RAM is so cheap but laptops these days seem to all be soldered with no upgrade path.

      • Thanks. The one model up with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and Core 7 155H is for 1899 which is a bit too much.

        • Then I'd advise holding out for Black Friday for something like this (it is 16").

    • ngl 32gb is the new minimum for me on windows PCs; nice to have and less chance of being slowed down by your ram being maxxed out.

      • Thanks

Video editing I'd say go with 32gb just because it shouldn't cost too much more. While it shouldn't be an issue for light video editing, you may as well go 32.

Purely office work, 16gb is fine.

      • Thanks. The one model up with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD and Core 7 155H is for 1899. Hard to justify spending that much for small gain.

        • I should have said take a hit on the CPU/other specs and get 32gb of ram. We've had some other slightly less fancy lenovo either 32gb of ram for about this price on ozb recently.

    • good for future proofing but you dont need 32GB.. I play games with my 16GB ram

      • Thanks
