If it doesn’t have a True HEPA filter, it’s basically just a fan.

Luckily it does have a True HEPA filter! https://cowaymega.com/products/mighty-ap-1512hh

        Some discussion here https://www.reddit.com/r/AirPurifiers/s/GStdFiKqUE
Appears it is true HEPA with an additional antibacterial coating but unclear if that is marketing or not.

It would have a HEPA filter, but its efficiency should be stated at 0.3 micron size which is the real 'standard' for filter testing.
I can only find where they publish the tested micron size of .01 (where they state it is 99.97% efficient). This is purely marketing.

It is better to find the rated efficiency at .3 micron size, this is the most problematic particle size to filter.

Antibacterial coating is marketing spin and doesn't do anything. You either can filter the bacteria particle or you can't, there is no need to pretend to kill it.

    • CADR is a combination of filtration efficacy and air volume. Does not need to be HEPA to be effective.

Essentially the same thing (same brand, same filter) with a slightly different design, for $10 cheaper:

    Black: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CLCGV1RN
    White: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CLCFBQNS

  • Cane here to post the same deal. We bought one closer to the normal price previously and can't complain yet. Bought a second for the kids room today.

  • These are rated very well but best thing about them by far, which most people don't take into account is the replacement filters. They are cheap. They're like $10-15!

    • Where from? Checked Amazon, eBay and Aliexpress but could only find ~$60-80 ones?

        $22.77 AUD for 1 HEPA + 2 carbon filters - https://www.temu.com/au/hepa--filters-for--ap-1512hh-ap-1512…
        $40 for 2x HEPA filters and 4x Carbon filters - https://www.temu.com/au/2-filters-4-carbon-2-pack-ap-1512hh-…
        $43 for 2x sets - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CYPR3LKN/

Keep a price watch on temu as I've bought them for cheaper (probably season dependent)

I also often get them for a further 30% off on temu…
Basically, you just download their mobile app and don’t touch it for a few weeks. When you finally open it, there’s this spinning game where you always win $200-300 in coupons. After you win those coupons, you need to make a small purchase of at least $50 to collect them. Once you make the purchase they gift you $200-300 worth of coupons, but you’ve got to use them within 24 hours. Most of these coupons give you about 30-40% off, like spend $100 and get $30 off, or spend $60 and get $24 off.

When you use the coupons, the filters end up being even cheaper! For example, if a set is on sale for $15 and you apply a 30% discount, it comes down to just $10.50. Since you’ve got to use the coupons so quickly, what I usually do is throw all the stuff I want in my cart on the web, then open the app to get the coupons, and finally go on a shopping spree from my desktop.

        • Cheers, thanks!

    • @noshopping would also love to know where to find cheap filters.

  • Is there a major difference between this one and the 150? Besides the CAD? I prefer the look of the 150!

    • A bit late to the party but I bought the Coway AirMega 150 instead of the AirMega Mighty because of the looks.

The differences that I have found are:

      • No timer on the AirMega 150, so can't have it automatically turn off
      • No ioniser

Both aren't "smart" devices so there's no app and it's all manually controlled. The AirMega Mighty we get in Australia is the AP-1512HH, not the AP-1512HHS which has smart features.
