It is more than 1 year old game and it is Final Fantasy, drop to this price is very normal.

the game has many, many flaws but the lack of turn based combat is not one of them.
@Parentheses: I'm a life long FF fan, and FF16 was easily the best original (not including the FF7:R series) entry in the series since FF9, if you ask me.

Also, SE share price is in the toilet because SE keep feeding shareholders unobtainable sales targets and never meeting them, which makes shareholders expect overachieving and anything else is a disappointment or outright unacceptable. The FF series has always sold well for what it is, SE just want more than they can actually milk out of a niche property that will only ever sell to existing fans. Yes, it's SE's flagship brand, but that in itself is the problem. FF will never be a mainstream property.
@Parentheses: They could make the battle system as turn based as you like, I don't think the share prices would change. the exploration was almost non-existent, the sections between major story beats were incredibly variable in quality, the combat was alright. it wasn't "misdirected advertising", are you ignoring that FF XV also had an action combat system? FF X was the last "pure" turn based mainline game and you need to accept that. Maybe they'll revisit it again one day but they shouldn't be boxed in by the idea that FF is only a turn based series.
SE has incredibly tight outlook when it comes to game sales. They declare bad sales if, in their estimates, the invested money would have performed better on the stock market. So they constantly report missed targets.
That's just the RRP. Got mine on release date for $68.

I just couldn't get into this. I found the combat a little on the easy side.
Supposedly you can unlock a Hard mode once you complete it but never understood why that option was never offered at the beginning…Damm I am having a hard time on Story mode :(

Ive never played any Final Fantasy games. I enjoy games like God of War, Horizon, Ghost of Tsuhima, Hogwarts Legacy, the old AC games etc. I dont really love BG3, Elder Ring etc. Would I enjoy this game?

I also enjoyed games you mentioned (except Hogwarts, haven't tried it).. so you probably would enjoy the gameplay too. I haven't played XVI myself but XV and VII rebirth is great in terms of getting the vibe of the typical FF story saga. This one seems a bit different than the rest as its set in medieval era but I'm keen to try it.

There is a playable demo on psn. It gives a taste of the game.
Great game! The side quests get a bit stale, but the main story and battles are fantastic. Music is also on point too!
Those side quests, what a disappointment! But still liked the game in general.
FYI: no pro enhancement on this one, at least not yet

Great game, just poor side quests (including the hunt board) and performance was pretty choppy on the PS5, even on the lower resolution mode. Fighting was a bit too easy as well. Visuals were good and I liked the general story.
For this price though it is definitely worth it if you haven't played it.
Take my advice.
Buy Gran Turismo 7.
That's all you need.
