Seems like a good price. Always wanted one, but not sure if I can justify the purchase yet

I agree … pre-packaged ice cream is a lot cheaper … but if you want to make boujee ice cream with interesting mix ins … and boozy slushies with ease … it's not a bad piece of kit for your kitchen arsenal.
More like a frozen custardy dessert than proper gelato ice cream
are you getting a tub of proper gelato at woolies for $5?
@GUYANDSON: Nope but I never said anything about buying ice cream at Woolies. All I said was this machine makes frozen custard desserts rather than ice cream
hmm i make 300cal 30g protein ice cream in this for about $1, the ones at woolworths (twisted/gymbod/musclenation) are $12… i eat this every night so i'd be losing $300+ a month or $3000+ per year if i didn't buy this machine
Can you share a link to the recipe? That sounds pretty great for macros.
300-400ml of any milk (almond, light, full-cream) and one scoop of whey, spoonful of stevia is my base. i just change the milk depending on if i'm cutting or bulking. i make 4 vanilla and 3 chocolate every sunday. mixins vary depending on calories for the day but biscoff is unreal. a million youtube and tiktok "recipes" that are based around this, sometimes sprinkling in xantham gum. get yourself a high powered milk frother for $20 on amazon and some spare tubs you're set for life.
@thiccglutes: Legend thanks 👍
@thiccglutes: No whey that's $1…
@Herb Utsmellz: Yea mate WPC from AminoZ on Ozbargain with 300ml of milk is around $1. I use more expensive WPI from other brands if I need to drink Whey, but for ninja creami's I use AminoZ/Bulk Nutrients.
Even apple juice + a cup of frozen mangos from ALDI freezer is cheap as (profanity) and tastes like a $5+ serving of Weis!
@thiccglutes: Mate 300ml of milk is $1…
@Herb Utsmellz: You must be buying expensive milk…
Ehh, sorry man but you can't make it for $1. It might be $2 cheaper than the protein ice creams that are on half price special (or ALDI's kenny's ice cream). It will cost about $4 a tub (excluding labor effort and electricity cost). 30g of protein is about $2 alone…
The 30g of Vanilla WPC from Bulk Nutrients combined with 300ml of Full Cream Milk from ALDI costs me $1.30 mate, sorry for saying $1 i'll round up to $4 next time! I lost more money replying to this comment based on my salary brother if you wanna say dumb things haha
@thiccglutes: We are talking about an item (ice cream) that costs a couple of dollars, so of course it is important to give the right figure, not a rounded number. You are literally contradicting yourself as well.
30g of WPC = $1.17
Skim Milk from Aldi (350mL) = $0.56
1 serving of stevia = $0.05
1 serving of Biscoff = $0.59
1 serving of Xanthan gum = $0.25While the above is a very bland ice cream, still costs $2.62
Also if your time so valuable, why did you even comment on this deal, let alone reply to me. Someone with such valuable time wouldn't waste it commenting on an ozbargain deal, let alone be on ozbargain. They'd be out making money. Weird flex to make on ozbargain, puts into question if its even the truth.
@xNik: Right let me get this down to "about $1 300cal 30g protein" which I claimed initially and then explain the other "weird flex" about salary you're calling me out on.
Full Cream Milk from Aldi (300mL) = $0.46
30g of Whey Protein ISOLATE from AminoZ OzBargain deal = $0.78
1 serving of stevia = $0.05The total price is $1.27. This is my base every night and makes a pint of 299 calorie, 35g protein ice cream.
There are almost 30 flavors to choose from, and it's not bland ice cream, it tastes better than the $8-10 Protein Ice creams we are compared this to. I absolutely standby my "for about $1". Adding in toppings is optional, you'd price that into other ice creams too.
And if you want to talk about the "time so valuable" topic, this took me a few minutes to type up which at my $1.27 price point is like $24 per hour (40c per minute) which I earn a lot more than, I'm sure majority of us do. It's definitely the truth, i just have mental problems mate hence why I'm arguing with you to prove myself! Which I have! Enjoy your night bud!
@thiccglutes: Taste is subjective, so if you like that taste, then fair enough. Considering min wage is $24.10, I am sure most if not everyone is at or above $24.
@thiccglutes: You opst me until the mental problems then i related quickly. On board.
@thiccglutes: Protein ice cream is pretty much the only thing I was planning to use this for if I were to buy it. You are absolutely right, protein ice cream in the shop are pricey.
Or just eat tuna like a man and not a soy boy.
You remind me of the vegans who get exited when there is a new meat flavourd vegetarian burger.
Have you tried straight protein water sorbet? Its not too bad and its so filling because it fluffs up. I use use bsc stuff and its like 100 cal a whole tub. Good for a cut.
The deluxe is the more versatile unit and if you're desperate for one immediately, I'd pay the extra $40 to get the deluxe.
I picked my deluxe model up 3 months ago during a ShopBack 40% cashback from Ninja Kitchen capped at $100. NK were doing a 10% off bundle for $364.50 with the unit and two extra tubs and after taking the additional $100 off it came down to $264.50.
I'd expect a decent discount probably coming in the next few weeks with Black Friday rapidly approaching - HODL.
The deluxe is $21 more expensive and seems like the better choice: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/876434
If you can hold off, wait for the bug sale and Shopback might do a 40% off ninja, I got my deluxe for about $230. But tbh barely used it 😂 the pints are bigger too so depends how much freezer space you have. Bit of a novelty item for us, but I've seen people in fb groups that use it twice a day so 🤷
Really good for people with dietary restrictions (like diabetes). MyDeal had the Deluxe for $279 last week. From looking at reviews it seems to me the Deluxe offers larger container size & the ability to process half the container at a time. Otherwise all differences are cosmetic. If you are a family I would go for the larger container.
I have some recipe books in a Google folder. If you want access, DM me your Gmail address.
Would you mind making the folder public (for viewing, not editing) and posting the link instead?
Just don’t see the appeal of this at all. It strikes me as one of those single purpose appliances that people use for a few weeks/months at most and then it gets relegated to the back of the kitchen pantry
You aren't far wrong. Today was the first time I have used mine since last summer.
I've been eating from it daily for more than 2 years! There are enough tubs to make 4 days worth, so I use the machine once every 4 days.
It was very different when I bought the Breville with the compressor. I used it maybe 5 or 6 times and never used it since.
I guess it all depends on if you like frozen desserts. If you don't like them, then the device is totally useless.
The deluxe is on sale at most retailers at the moment for about $300, I think it’s better value seeing as that is about $120 off where this is around $20 off
$246 for basic Creami and $298 for Deluxe at TGG Commercial if you have access.
deluxe is 268 from bee lee via ebay plus
Thanks mate. Shared it as new post
