Yeah you can. Put the Deco X68 as your router instead of the Deco M9 plus.
Thanks. Can I then use the m9 as mesh?
Yeah you can mesh the Deco X68 to the M9 plus.
Do these have a better signal strength than the XE75? I returned a 2 pack because it barely covered half of my house (approx 350sqm, not including outside)
my house is 570 sqm including outside, and i have 3 and i get pretty good coverage, nbn connection is upstairs and downstairs i get around 400 mbps over the mesh wifi no ethernet back haul.
Concerning you have three and only get pretty good coverage… I've got one Asus wifi 5 router and it covers all of our 460sqm place.
I'd be expecting excellent coverage with a 3 router mesh system personally.
from my room to where the nbn is, which is around 10 meters i get 800 to 950 mbps down and 50 up no issues. and yeah coverage throughout the house is not an issue, i still have a connection in my backyard and also in the street which is usable.
Lol, semantics.
Not sure why you got downvoted for this comment. I thought the same. I’d expect faster than that.
@teamcooperuk: You expect faster than 400mbps over mesh with wifi-backhaul on a mesh system that costs $229 for a two pack? I'd argue for the price, that's pretty incredible, for wireless backhaul.
I'm sure with wired backhaul, you'd get close if not the full gigabit speed.
@buckethat: the speed being 400 mbps, mind you the devices connected being pc's / ps5 / tv's and are the furthest away from where the nbn is located in my house, especially it going through brick you cant really expect anything faster unless it was ethernet backhauled which i don't necessarily require.
edit: i guess i forgot to elaborate, i'm the only one in the house who cares about getting faster than 800 mbps, which i do considering my set-up is in my room which is upstairs near the nbn.
they might as well have air purifying functionality at this point
Any good as a mesh without ethernet backhaul?
yeah man these work really well without ethernet backhaul, running 3 of these, two upstairs and one downstairs

Would the 1 pack be a good basic router for a 100mbps FTTP/FTTC plan with tangerine?
Depends on the size of the house.
If you're in a small house, or apartment, should be just fine.
I use Tangerine with three X68's. It's good when it all works. I have limited network knowledge so it was a headache setting it all up due to both parties. The default DNS would crash multiple times a day from minutes to hours at a time, resulting in unstable/unusable internet. Changing it fixed that issue. And on one of the X68 one of the two ethernet ports doesn't work. I thought it was to do with the IPTV/VLAN settings which seems common with Deco. But I swapped them around and the port is just broken. I'll have to do a warranty claim at some point.
Cheaper with eBay Plus. After code PLS250, 1-pack $129, 2-pack $209.
not working for me, im a plus member, is it targeted?
I’m not sure. It was showing on mine unless you have already used the voucher for something else. I can only use it one time as it no longer shows now after purchasing it.
PLS250 doesn't work for me also, however, as a plus member, I used one of the codes under Voucher section of the My eBay Summary page - Eligible eBay Plus members get 5% off your purchase of AU $50.00 or more, up to AU $1,000.00 off.
My code starts with 'PLUSB'. It brings the saving to $11.95. $1.95 more than using code 'SNSM11'.
I have a 3 pack of these and it covers the house well. I had to disable the roaming protocol on some older devices as they did not like it
Bought the 3 pack last week from HT/Amazon to upgrade from Tenda MW6 that's having issues. Running in AP mode with 1 wired & 1 wireless backhaul, and it covers my old double-brick house very well. Web interface is a bit lacking so most settings require the TP-Link Deco app.
I have a 3 pack of these early late last year for $490 and it covers my double storey 4-bedroom house well. This is a great price for it.
We have a small 3 bedroom house. One router with max coverage would probably cover us instead of a mesh system. What’s a good single router with excellent coverage?
Can I use these with an existing Deco ax3000 mesh WiFi?
I'm using Deco x50s with poe at the moment.
Thanks.
Yes
Thank you!
I've got X50's too. Any recommendations on how best to add the X68's to the mesh? I assume using the X68 as the router makes most sense?
Correct.
why does it seem like product designers are going for the 'air purifier' look?
Has anyone used these (or something similar) without an ethernet backhaul for gaming? I've heard that mesh networks without ethernet sometimes struggle with low-latency stuff.
We have a 5 bed 2 story house and have a TP-Link AX3000 router with a couple of range extenders using Tangerine 100 / 50. Question - could these connect to the router and provide a better coverage and would I need one or two?
These would replace what you have now (possibly with the exception of the router.)
Depending on the router, this may be applicable: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15634316/redir
But why are you asking in the first place? Is there a problem with speed/coverage?
What are the general thoughts on this vs the Eero 6+?
Eero 6+ is dual band, this is tri-band
Eero 6+ is roughly equivalent to X50.
Thanks. I pulled the trigger on the 3-pack just as it came down to $349.
When I set these up, I was thinking of wiring 2 of them. If I set them up wirelessly first, do I just plug in the cable later?
Yes.
i have a double storey house is 2 of them sufficient or do i need 3? thanks
Depends how big, but if it's not concrete/double brick, then probably.
Depends on placement. It should be fine
Just ozbargainy question
Is this the cheapest 2 PACK has been?
Any cashbacks or gift card I should look out for when ordering this from Amazon
Wait for black Friday or I can miss out on this amazing product?Too many questions, spilling my brain here lol
Pretty sure it's ATL.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards?&#c…
I don't think it'll get much cheaper for Black Friday, but the only way to know would be to have some kind of time travel machine…Love the answer mate! TTM is the way to go lol
Thanks for chipping in @McFly
Yeah I think these are ATL on per unit price.
I got the 3 pack 2 years ago for almost $445 from SE.
Edit: $349 for the 3 pack was previous ATL per unit (BF special for the first 100 customers). And at least OP is on Amazon which yeah you can use discounted gift cards. Cashback on this category is usually less than 1% if not 0%. There's a potential for bonus / upsized cashbacks on BF but who knows if the price will still be the same by then. As @McFly alludes, we need some plutonium to generate the 1.21 jiggawatts of electricity.
The 2 pack is back up to $249. But the 3 pack is now down to $349. That's what I get for sleeping on the decision to buy.
I was looking to get 2 pack too and overnight it's $20 extra😔
You snooze you lose ..ok bargain
Wish I had TTM as Mcfly suggested 😜
3 pack for $349 on Amazon still great per unit price of you can justify having a 3rd unit.
Does anyone have reviews on this air purifier?
Does anyone know what sort of max speeds they give in VPN 'client' mode i.e. when Surfshark/Nord etc. are setup on the router itself in Wireguard mode? Usually there a capping depending on router hardware, but I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere on deco webpages. Gl.inet is quite transparent about max supported speeds with VPN client. Any help would be awesome!
I have a single Deco x9 plus. Can I add one or two of these to that mesh device? Thanks
