With their range of aviation-inspired watches AVI-8 definitely target a sub-sector of the watch collector world, so if this is something that captures your interest then I recommend you check them out. I bought one of their D-Day commemorative watches and was really impressed with it. Build quality is excellent, the strap is very comfortable, and I personally find the design aesthetic very appealing. I'm now considering one of the recently released Baldwin Automatics to add to the collection. If, like me, you had a misspent youth pumping coins into the Capcom video game 1942 then you'd likely find the collaboration design featuring 8-bit pixel art from the game on the dial to your taste as well.
The Black Friday discount works for all full-priced watches across the site and applies automatically when adding items to the cart.
There is also a range of Special Offer watches which have discounted pricing of up to 50% off. The BF discount doesn't apply, but for most of them if you use the coupon SAVE10 in the cart you'll score an extra 10% off.
My picks are:
Hawker Typhoon Baldwin Automatic Cool Black - US$206 (~A$322) after 25% discount
Capcom 1942 Automatic Pixel Limited Edition - US$296 (~A$464) after 25% discount
Hawker Hurricane Classic Chronograph - US$134.10 (~A$210) after 10% discount
Spitfire Smith Automatic Distressed Black - US$224.10 (~A$351) after 10% discount
Never again AVI-8. You know when you buy something then you see it on Aliexpress a couple months later and it's less than a tenth of the price? That's the feeling you get when you buy Avi-8.
Cheap Chinese watches, I have many watches and look after them, some cheap some expensive, and this is the worst I've had. Or maybe my MVMT that I got suckered into buying back in the day. Other than the obvious lack of quality, the hand literally fell off my AVI-8 and floated around the face.
