Is There Any Reason to Use Telstra Post-Paid Instead of Boost?

Is there any advantage to using a Telstra post-paid plan over Boost pre-paid? I've been relying on Telstra for a while because I often need to use it in remote locations, I'm OK with paying more for the security of having the best coverage. I'm thinking of switching to Boost pre-paid because it's so much cheaper… is there anything I'm missing? I'm finding it hard to understand why Telstra is so much more expensive if there's no benefit, are they just relying on people (like me) who haven't looked into cheaper options?

main downside is capped download speeds, both telstra prepaid and boost are capped at 150mbps.
other benefit for postpaid is that you can put a device with it on an interest free plan.
    thats about it though!

Boost $59/mth with 250Mbp cap, $74/mth with no cap.

If you have a cellular Apple Watch, you’re stuck with Telstra… I guess that’s something

    • For apple watch, you could also try betterroaming

  • Rumour has it that Telstra customers get priority if the network is congested.

  • Do both have unmetered music streaming?

  • This is hard to verify but I do believe that coverage is different on boost and Telstra based on congestion. I was in Highpoint Shopping Centre recently on a weekend and decided to test this while the misso shopped for clothes. Popped a boost and Telstra sim into the same phone and I was barely able to load a webpage on the boost SIM while the Telstra SIM had no issues. I also noticed patchy reception in certain parts with boost and the Telstra SIM had no issues .

Noticed the same thing in Sunshine Plaza. iPhone 15 getting full 5 bars 5G but couldn’t load web pages or open apps. I just thought it was a modem glitch because I’m on iOS public beta or even eSIM issue (I’ve read that eSIM can be flakey) but the more I think about it, it’s probably Telstra prioritising Telstra. It's a weird thing to look at your screen with 5 bars but no action.
Next time I’ll call boost on the spot.

I’ve noticed similar when in remote locations when comparing a boost and Telstra sim in the same device. But, one unusual thing I have noticed when I had multiple boost SIM cards was that when in the basement carpark one boost sim would work whilst the other boost wouldn’t which made no sense to my luddite brain.
