Cashback terms and exclusions

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 60 days of purchase for cashback to be eligible.

  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it may result in an untracked purchase and will be ineligible for cashback. The existing customer rate will therefore apply to subsequent orders.

  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Customer status (new or existing) for Lyca Mobile generally entails a new mobile number and/or email address. Lyca Mobile has sole discretion on determining status and acting upon fraudulent and/or excessive transactions as they deem necessary. TopCashback has no control over this.

  • eSIMs are eligible for cashback, but must be activated within 60 days of purchase.

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.

  • Always return to TopCashback and click through via the pink cashback button to the retailer's website for each new transaction.

  • Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Good to know

  • Ensure you disable plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole & VPNs prior to clicking/tapping from TopCashback as they will prevent your order from tracking.

  • If you cancel / return / exchange / modify your completed order, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

What to do and when

  • Missing cashback claims must be lodged within 100 days of purchase.

Enjoy!

Did this for a disposable number. Sign up procedure is atrocious.

Porting a number was an absolute pain.
And they told me I hadn't done it properly! Silly me.

    • pls share & easier work-around ?

      • Applied for new mobile#, not-port an existing mobile#…not game enough 🤔.
3-Dec: tried many times but system could not activate. Rang Lyca, waited 10m in the queue, @ 1700hr got boost off.
4-Dec: activated ~ 0700hr. ID check via driver license was smooth.
        Data, call & sms works.

  • Limit 2 activated SIMs for ID person with lycra I think

    • 3.9 Activation limits: An individual may activate a maximum of five (5) SIM cards, regardless of the type of identification used (e.g.: driver licence, passport, etc.). Any attempts to activate more than five SIM cards under any combination of IDs will be subject to denial. This policy is in place to ensure regulatory compliance and to prevent misuse.

      P.S. I see Lycra too.

      • When you try register a 3rd SIM it says:

"You have reached the maximum number of registrations."

    • You only get $8 for one order anyways tho?

    • But will they approve the cashback after the first one with the same ID?

Customary comment to let everyone know that Lyca Mobile is bad (worst provider I have ever experienced in Australia)

  • How long does the SIM take to get sent out? I'm still waiting on mine from the last deal

  • +1

Can I clarify does that mean if we activated one Lyca mobile prepaid we won't be eligible for rebate for second Sim?

    • -1

yes-> 'The existing customer rate will therefore apply to subsequent orders'

      • if we activated one Lyca mobile prepaid we won't be eligible for rebate for second Sim?

        neggers likely thinking about existing-customer 1% rebate: $0.075 -> https://www.topcashback.com.au/lyca-mobile/

        I looked @ the NEW-customers $8 rebate, lol

OzBargainers are wide & vast, indeed.

I bought a Lyca eSIM from the last profit cashback deal, and the activation process was a nightmare.

When I asked for help from customer service, they asked me to send them my ID docs via email!

    Not worth it.

    • Same here. Not gonna waste my time again for this little profit.

    • I didn't have any dramas with my activation, but I wasn't worried about having to port my number in.

      • -1

I tried porting my number in. There is no option to choose my service provider, and there is no "other" option. When entering previous mobile number there is only space for 9 digits (you cannot enter more or less than that), so I have to start with a 4xxxxxxxx, instead of 04xxxxxxxx, or xxxxxxxx. When I completed the whole process they gave me a new number despite I have chosen to port in my existing number. WTF

        • +1

I've read about this in the past. Horror stories. You get a new number assigned even if chosen to port; and then you have to send a Text sort-of to get the number changed. No idea how they do it, but yeah, I have never tried activating/porting one.

      • I didn’t port my number either. But it was still a debacle.

    • This makes me regret buying Lycamobile now…. Wonder if I can get a refund and cancel instead?

    • Did you get ot sorted soon after sending in the email?

I was in the same situation, sent in an email to cs@… end of last week, got a blank reply from help@… on the weekend.

  • For Lyca’s cashback does new email and new mob. no. mean new user?

  • I don’t see an $8 SIM card option on the Lyca site, can someone link it?

    • It's an affiliate-only product, so you have to click via TCB to be able to view it.

I'm still waiting for my SIM to be delivered to Perth metro, 20 days after the order. Steer clear of Lyca.

  • I activated my SIM card online. Although I followed the instructions correctly (with SMS verification etc.), they activated my SIM as a new number, and did not port my current SIM over. FAIL!

  • @neoleo Was it this one that u mentioned yesterday?

  • the port in is bad but not terrible. you can do everything correct, but at the last step, you end up with a new number and port in doesn't happen. So knowing this, I called customer support, and they did the port over the phone. yes, its more steps and needs to call someone, but it did work. this was my secondary number, i would avoid if it was my primary.

  • Strangest thing just happenned to me. I used one of the cashback deals previously, and it just ticked over a month of usage. My paypal account was billed for the same amount as the last time again! Previously I doublechecked and could not see any recurring plans anywhere on my lyca account neither could I see any payment details saved. I tried calling Lyca and some annoying arrogant customer support stated that I already used the plan thus ineligable for refund. This should not be relevant. I started a dispute on Paypal, but it takes several weeks.
Was anyone able to resolve it?

    • Same thing just happened to me. I got several Lyca numbers, hope the others wont get charged. I will do the same as what you did.

      • Paypal dispute did not work. They declined it. Still working on it. I will never use Lyca again

        • Did they say the reason? Did you provide evidence of trying to resolve this with Lyca?
There was one instance in the past that Paypal dispute worked for me - cant remember the details.
In addition, I also cancelled auto payment to Lyca via Paypal.

          • @yanlianglee: Lyca requested them some evidence (don't know what, Paypal didn't share with me), and Paypal requested my agreement with Lyca to evidence that there was no recurring payment in contract. I provided them a screenshot from my Lyca account where it said "no automatic payments" - it was not enough for them. I could not find my contract with Lyca on their website easily.

  • Got Lyca Mobile: $18.50 Cashback on 30GB 28-Day $12.50 SIM @ TopCashback AU. Although Website Activation process failed to complete after ticking my passport check, received an email saying "Your Lyca Mobile number is now active…." Inserted sim, no service. Contacted customer service, was told my LG V30+ isn't compatible and given reference # for refund. Still no news after a few days. What should I do?

  • Make sure BOTH auto recharge AND auto-renewal have been switched off. Was just charged for another month :(

    • Thanks for the heads up. Are both of those different settings found in the same page/area of the website, or only visible within the app?
