    You can consider either vehicle.

But what happens when the coin lands on the side?

  • +2

There's a sealion in the car park. I'll stalk the owner. :)

  • +1

Can you give us some specs or at least link to them? That way, we can get onto subjective factors more quickly.

  • +1

The BYD. It's now $3k cheaper for 3 days.

    sauce source

  • +2

I would swing towards the GWM (I'm in the same boat) due to the combined output of 342kW* 762Nm and 0-100 4.9 sec and the extra range of the EV 180kms vs 90 on the BYD

Battery tech is evolving so fast who knows what next year the range will be.

    • +1

      those numbers are insane

    • Yep, same.

BYD has a good reliability rating and GWM is the 'Toyota' of chinese vehicles with their latest generations quite reliable.

Turning circle: Sealion 11.4m; Haval 12m. Both awful, BYD better

    • +9

      RAV4: 11.8m
      Prado: 11.6m
      Outlander 11.4m
      Everest: 11.7m
      Santa Fe: 11.6m
      Sportage 12.2m
      Tiguan: 11.9m
      Cayenne: 11.9m
      CX7: 11.5m
      Cx5: 11.8m

      Both awful

WTF are you on about? 11.4m and 12m look to be pretty average for this segment of vehicles. It’s not like one of them is 17m or something stupid, JFC.

        • +8

Why did that deserve a rant?

Your comment is misinformation. saying somwthing is awful implies it is much worse than equivalent products. Data shows it is normal, and therefore not awful.

Because a turning circle is going to make a big decision ? Thats like asking which has the buggest cup holders and going with that one..

        • Cool story bro…

  • +2

What has the cheaper servicing, tires, and insurance? That's the one I'd go for.

  • *H6 GT PHEV 0-100 is 4.9s

    Thats enough for me.

  • Ultra is better than premium isn’t? Are there any MG super duper awesomes out yet?

  • BYD are having issues with the Sealion currently whereby the engine begins shaking violently. I'd pick the GWM as they're known for quality comparable to the big names.

    • +5

never thought id see the day where GWM is known for quality.

      • +3

They aren’t. The literally had to change their name because their earlier cars were so bad.

    • Is it ever smart to go "turbo" variant? Looks like only happens to AWD versions… Hmm

  • We test drove all the Haval’s they had available 2 years ago. They all drove like ass, it felt unsafe and not very stable, like the cars were floating on top of the road.

I’m not sure if this new one will be the same, but please test drive both and make up your mind that way.
