How much for insurance?
What for? Just come to Australia's premier after-crash no-insurance go-to hub: OzBargain
“Who is at fault, the flying car or the energy company who put the power lines there. Asking for a friend.”
Can't wait for the pseudo-3D MS Paint drawings.
Much cheaper than the divorce.
I'm pretty sure it's fully insured when you pay the rego.
"what could possibly go wrong".
ahh shaped like a coffin, i guess that cuts out the middleman
If you don't like the range on an EV, you probably really won't like the range on this.
Thanks, was gonna pay for a house deposit but I think this better suit my lifestyle.
Are you a helicopter parent?
Whats the difference between a 'flying car' and a helicopter?
About $5,000 to $25,000 by the looks of it…
Range: 75km (approximately 30 minutes of flight time)
Speed: Top speed of 130km/h
Hold up, that maths doesn't add up……
It works out to exactly…
130km per HOUR, so for 30 mins, or "half an hour" it would go "half" the distance…
130km / 2 =/= 75km… maybe 65?
:D
It doesnt even allow for take off and landing… and that's the part that would eat up the most fuel, so I am guessing it would be closer to 40~50km after considering take off and landing, and even that is being generous…
Not to mention the power waster being turned on before flying, running flight checklists and stuff. Yeah…… that range is about as accurate as Tesla true FSD ETAs.

Wait for few more years maybe …
Now deposit $100 :P
Range: 75km (approximately 30 minutes of flight time)
So average ~ 150km/h
edit: 50 seconds too slow :)

This is what Xpeng promised: https://www.goauto.com.au/assets/contents/8c800646b447671be6…
an actual car with wheels, and props that fold away.
The prototype looks nothing like it. What happened to all the investor money? Another Kickstarter dream that will never come true.

The actual flying car is stage 3 of their plan, these mini choppers are stage one.
All the investor money went into the car business. Which wasn't doing that great last year either, so maybe they're pinning their hopes on these helicopters.
this is quite exciting, especially for those that live out regional/rural way, but bit a shame it can't be driven as a car
Great. Can imagine the richie richs flying by to get to their beach house deafening everyone they pass.
Might be handy for farmers, but ill be 30min isnt anywhere near long enough for them and if it needs a pilkt licence, theyll probably stick with ICE helicopters for now.
Deffs a human sized drone. Looks fun tho
"The X2 on display at the Sydney EV show was said to be the fifth-generation model from Xpeng. It will eventually be superseded by upgraded versions boasting a flying time closer to two hours, said Mr Clarke."
The Xpeng X2 is already on sale in Europe and is now available to order locally through TrueEV’s Australian website, where you can secure one with a fully refundable $100 deposit.

Maybe wait for few more years for the 2 hours range version …
$200,000 for the flying car, and probably another $15,000 for a recreational pilots flying license.
