  • Hope it works better than the V15 Submarine. Ours is absolutely hopeless.

    • +1

the Submarine is more like a transitional product and this G1 is the final form…. sad for the Submarine buyers

      • While this is true, I do like that the Submarine is an all-in-one type product that can do both hard floors and carpet, even if its vastly superior on carpet as opposed to mopping.

    • +1

I have one and it works really well. Makes mopping actually enjoyable and the dirty water is alarmingly satisfying.

  • I know it is still early days but would love to see what the owners/reviews say on this.

The submarine was half-assed and I'm so glad I skipped it.

Also interested to see how it goes versus the Tineco models (S5 , S6 etc)

I have one after my brother bought one and I had a test run. The caveat they informed us was, it's a great daily mop to clean up surface dust/liquid and grime but you still need to do a weekly manual mop for any built up stains and markings.

We have three dogs with timber floorboards. Having the option to surface clean the kitchen and floor in front of the backyard door is a God send, especially on rainy days when the dogs bring in mud and rain.

I hate mopping the dog areas as I had to vacuum beforehand or end up with a mop head full of hair. The dyson is able to seperate most of the hair and dirt into dry and wet sections quite well.

      • still need to do a manual mop

So, comparable performance to legacy models like Tineco then (which I have). I find these sort of devices pick up debris more than they actually clean the surface, which my robovac does an excellent job of. I'm hoping for a machine that actually scrubs timber floors so they come up shining clean.

        • +1

Yea, the g1 is not the device you're looking for if you prefer a good scrubbing mop. Similar to how most of the Dyson stick vacuums can't compare to a proper bag/hosed vacuum, the g1 lacks that grunt a traditional mop has

Bought this couple a months ago.. didn't like it returned it and bought the Bissell ominforce instead.. way better.

    • I think Dyson is playing catch-up when it comes to robot vacuums and wet and dry vacuums. They are not as good as what is available from Tineco, Roborock and others

    • What was the reason for return? Can return easy?

What didn't you like about it? Thinking about buying one

  • +3

Better to buy from Dyson store direct, cheaper today with CR 10% cash back, PLUS free delivery, PLUS "Receive complimentary additional microfibre rollers valued at $49."

    • I haven't used cash rewards before, so I might be missing something. But it looks like they are only offering 4.5% back on the Dyson store?

      • cheaper today with CR 10% cash back

10% on the day I posted comment

  • I was going to get one of these but I went with a robot vacuum and mop instead. Much better :)

  • Damn, I had a second impulse to buy this because of the price but still thinking I need to do some more research.. 😪

I watched quite a few videos from that Asian-looking Canadian guy on YT who does some of the most watched vacuum/wet+dry machine review/vomparison videos. He has an in-depth one on this, I believe almost 30 minutes long, along with comparisons with similar models. I remember aswell in one video he lists what the coming technology is to these machines e.g. heat-drying incorporated in most models by the end of 2025 (I believe he also says some other brands already have this tech). And what to expect further ect.

I have class today from 4:30 to 9:30 so it's going to be tight how much research I'll be abel to do.. 😪
