Multi buy discount, buy 5 and get 6 additional for free. To activate the offer, Add 11 total pairs of Underwear (either men or women's, can mix different types)

I have been wearing these for years and love them. I have tried a few of the alternatives and don’t find them as comfortable. Some have commented that the quality has gone down in recent years, but I need more and happy to go again - especially at this price of $15 each if you buy the 5 and get 6 more free.

Quality has definitely reduced over the years. I prefer AussieBum now (usually $10/pair) and you don't need to buy a dozen pairs to get a decent price.

    • Any in particular that you like? There are some interesting designs on there..

    • +20

      Any extra sneaky discounts?

Some of my jocks be looking like spiderman after his fight with green goblin and could do with some new ones

I came to say the same thing. I have both the StepOne and Aussiebum Bamboo trunks, and find them pretty similar, but I slightly prefer the Aussiebum pair.

All of their "Comfy Bamboo" and "Essential Bamboo", in the trunks style are similar to the StepOne. And at $21.48 for the 3 packs, it's hard to go wrong. There's a couple of other 3 pack colour sets if these aren't to taste.

Just be mindful that the sizing runs a bit small. My StepOnes are Large, but I found I needed Extra Large in the Aussiebum range.

Aussiebum almost always have a 50% off sale. Don't pay anything more, just wait a couple of weeks and the sale always comes back. Cashrewards also have a modest cash back with them too.

        • I thought their thing was made in Australia. The linked ones are made in china. Very disappointing

@Brick Tamland: I’m just posting here for anyone to refer to in the future.

I’ve got chunky quads, rugby prop style.

Stepones were a godsend for me, they literally changed my life.

Like everyone else here, my most recently purchased batch have almost perished while my 4-5 year old batch are still going (I wouldn’t say strong but still going).

I ordered 6 of the Aussiebums after reading your post but I’m sorry to say, they are no good.

Well made and seemingly comfortable material construction but they ride up badly and are not figure hugging like the stepones. They are also missing the Lycra grundle.

Probably not for my body shape so the search continues. I want to refuse to give stepone any more money after their massive drop in quality but I hope I’m not forced to.

Reading the posts here, I think many look at these as normal boxers but everyone I know that wears them has a strange or chunky body type and we wear them to prevent chafage, ride up, plumbers crack and the unholy churning of duck butter.

    • I bought the 15 pair deal a while back and gave five to my young bloke. Not sure what quality was like before but have noticed some of my pairs that have frayed a little. So yeah quality not what you’d expect for set of tweeds that they normally ask $30+ for.

Having said that, they are damn comfortable and my boys appreciate the support and the “flattering” they get from contoured gusset thingy. The girlfriend’s eyebrows confirm this effect.

Got some Step ones the few months ago, wearing daily the quality is pretty amazing. Worth every $ for comfort. Went for along run without and got bad chafing, putting on step ones chafing went away for the rest of the day so my legs could heal.

    • +1

Just checked out Aussie Bum and that has to be one of the most infuriating sites I've ever used. Why try and reinvent the wheel so you no longer have a product page?

  • +2

Have purchased 6x 3 packs of these for $15 a 3pack excluding any cashback, quality has been awesome and so far have withstood 5-6 months of constant use.

Annoying temu. Can't easily view an item without having to go through their shits (spinning roulette etc)

      • Easier to view through the app, just copy the link into the search bar in the Temu app

  • +2

No matter which type I select there is no $15 dollar deal

    • +1

Its very deceiving, almost Completely fake advertising, i think it means $15 for each one if you get the buy 5 get 6 free deal, so $150ish for 11 pairs

    • +1

      15x11=165

        • +1

If you buy one it's $35. If you buy 11, then each one could be as low as $14.09, accounting for the 6 "free" ones.

Yes the title needs some work. Should read buy 11 for $165.

        • +2

It's $31 for the first 5, then $0 for the next 6. Should come up as $155

The weighted average cost is $14.09, the actual costs are 5x $31 + 6x $0

    • +4

Do you have a link for the seconds listed on AliExpress?

  • +9

Not worth it any more. Real shame but they've tanked their quality.

  • Not worth it if you have to get 11

    • I thought this too initially with these types of deals, but if you're due for a whole new set of underwear you can just keep a few sealed in the packet and just open it later when needed.

  • +6

Might be worth putting in the title or comment that the spend is $165 for the 11 pairs to clear up confusion in the comments.

It's not $15 each for the 5 pairs, it's $35 each for 5 pairs and you get the other 6 pairs for $0.

Otherwise good deal btw! Been very happy with my Step One pairs over the last 8 months :)

  • ICYWW: they're blokes undies.

  • +1

Can't tell what is on sale from the title

  • +3

what? they charge $35 for these normally - who buys this

    • -1

Just wait until you find out how much balenciaga charges

      • +9

Balenciaga don't claim to be for the everyday person. mind you their quality isn't much better than what you can get for $10 and sadly Step One quality seems to have dropped too.

  • +6

Step on def have lowered their quality standards. Old ones have lasted whilst their new ones broke fairly quickly. Kmart ones long lasting now

    • +1

and they were never good anyway. alibi drop shippers and sky news donors. Kmart $5 bamboos are somehow better, I'm still searching for a quality ethical merino brand

  • +5

Used to be my go to, but their quality has dropped pretty drastically unfortunately :(

  • $10 off code also when creating a Step One account.

  • +2

StepOne quality is poor nowadays. I'm still rocking my OG pairs but every subsequent pair has long deteriorated and been thrown out.

I now wear the new NO Chafe Bonds

  • Im getting holes in them every 3 to 6 months.
Luckily i aquired a few dozen for free

  • +3

Mimicking what everyone here has mentioned. I used stepones for years but they're kinda crap now. Swapped to Tradies personally and quite like em and they're comfy. The band doesn't eat into me as much as step ones too. And much cheaper. Probably won't ever buy stepones again unfortunately.

    • +1

I agree with you. Tradie are my favs at the higher cost ($18) and AussieBum at the lower end ($10).

My first pairs of Step Ones from many years ago are still going strong. My recent pairs from the last 12 months have literally fallen apart. There are better options out there especially for $14, let alone $35.

  • +1

I never buy underwear online. Always try them in-store before buying.

    • +4

I like to take them for a road test around the shopping centre for a few hours personally.

  • +3

i ordered 20 pairs from alibaba for $180 delivered, apparently its the supplier for step one. " OEM Famous Brand Supplier"

    https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/best-underwear-for-sw…

    • I had a quick Google and couldn't find any info, do you remember where you heard/saw this?

      • +3

If you scroll through previous ozbargain deals about Step One, it's been mentioned a few times that you can do a bulk order from the OEM Alibaba factory (i.e. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/729977). A while back, one of the pictures on the site included Step One, but that's been removed.
Of course there's no guarantee this is the truth, but it's not exactly an uncommon business practice for many brands to just use a factory from China and slap their brand name and marketing on it.
Although it's cheaper, you need to order a lot more pairs, and I doubt you can pick/choose colours.
Everyone also claims the quality has decreased. Who knows if that's due to a manufacturer change, and/or a deliberate decrease in manufacturing costs to create larger margins?

        • Brilliant! Thanks very much for linking this!

    • Just been delivered , doesn’t seem to be same as step one. If anyone is interested , I can sell 18 pairs , located Sydney

    Lee Cooper from the UK
5x pairs for $20 very comfy. Can vouch.
    Why spend $155 for 11 😂

  • Jockey or nothing.

  • I get bad gooch rub in the Brisbane summer, any recommendations for undies? I have a range of step ones but the newer, lower quality ones don’t seem to alleviate said issues. Tried knobby, no good.

Or go Commando and save money 💰💰💰

  • Stackable with referral 50% discount?

  • Am I the only one that finds Kmart jocks more comfortable than other stuff? I've generally made them last longer than the Bonds stuff I used to have too lol

  • Couple of years since I bought underwear and I'm due.

I like the Obviously brand, with the 6 inch leg boxer briefs:
    https://obviouslyapparel.com/collections/boxer-brief-6-inch-…

Anything similar but better than these?

  • +1

The quality is no good these days. Have had to throw out several pairs. They use to be really good.

  • +1

Thanks OP, I was skeptical with step one initially, however after trialing one single pair, I purchased a stack during their last sale. I will never buy any other unders ever. They are super comfy and last if you wash them correctly. I think the hot water wash destroys them. People should read the cleaning instructions. Anyway I just bought another 5 and looking forward to my complimentary 6. Thankyou

  • -1

Underwear is cheap compared to what the missus spends, better to get something nicer and even if the quality isn't as good just toss them. It may not be the OZB way at first sight, but I'm not sure many women would prefer some Step Ones over a pair of CKs or similar, and it's much cheaper than buying a new woman drinks.
