  • is this a "full" sized mouse?

    • +5

      Nope, smaller than regular.

      • +1

        Perfect for my small hand.

    • +1

It's slightly on the smaller side but average size hands will be okay due to its egg shape.
You can compare it's shape and size with other popular gaming mice: https://eloshapes.vercel.app/mouse/compare?p=razer-orochi-v2…

I've been using mine on and off as a laptop gaming mouse for the last 3 yrs. I have a fair number of AAA/AA batteries spare so it's not been a big deal, but I have another mouse that is wireless and rechargeable, and my next will be similar.
For $38 delivered with Au/Amazon warranty, I think it's a pretty good deal, but if you're willing to spend more, and don't like AA/AAA batteries, there's a lot more options these days from Chinese manufacturers that are sub <$80. Vxe, mchose, atk, attackshark, Incott etc

  • +1

i wish that it could be charged with a usb cable, is there an alternative that has that for a decent price?

    • +1

I prefer the flexibility (though more expensive) of AA. Each to their own…

      • +2

been there, its annoying dealing with a whole lot of batteries in and out. put in charger and out. instad of just plugging in a cable, i dont mind the batteries being aa as long as it could be charged on device

        • I must admit I have not tried AA this mouse will be my first.

Maybe you are correct… How long do you think the AA, very roughly, would last?

          • @Misha Bakunin: thats the annoying part, different brands have different life span but i found myself putting them on charge every 2 weeks or so, its the annoyance of doing it everytime, instead of just putting it on charge at the end of the night like you do to a phone
this is the answer, $99 from centercom or umart, rechargeable via usb C https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C6K2DH73?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

            • @Roe Jogan: Are you saying this mouse (razor orochi v2) lasts only 2 weeks on AA? How many hours per day did you use it?

2 weeks would be slightly annoying to change batteries for. I’m so used to using logitech and they last a really long time. Non-gaming mice though

          • @Misha Bakunin: Over 2 years, given it is an average usage.

          • +1

@Misha Bakunin: AA mouses are fantastic. Logitech G305 or whatever the model is over a year on a single battery. Of course, it's not polling at some totally unnecessary 1KHz rate that makes gamerz feel important, nor is it rippling with LEDs to make gamerz feel validated. Just a crazy reliable mouse with incredible battery life.

Zaopin Z1 Pro similar shape and rechargable

    • Fantech just came out with Aria II … top of the line hardware for $75 this is egg shaped too and i think is very good deal for the sensor but i have no experience with the software. at under $50 the options for wireless mouse leans towards chinese mouse if not on sale. Chinese mice are a risk. fantech is Indonesian i think.

      for your consideration.

      • -1

at 75 i think its worth paying 25 extra for logitech

        • no egg shaped from logitech.

        • +2

Logitech quality kinda sucks in 2024.

  • +4

Had one, the right mouse button failed. RMA'd it with no issues but immediately sold the replacement

    • Lol I should have done this. I kept the replacement, replaced the switches on the first with silent switches and it works well.
Now I have two, and they are both buried in my drawer.

  • +4

do not recommend, mouse wheel fails about 2 months in

    • +3

      that's 1 month more than g305!

  • +3

Using this mouse right now, absolutely love it. Nice and small and compact.

  • +1

Lol love your pros and cons OP….

I slightly prefer RGB but meh.

I got this mouse. It drops out quite often when connected using Bluetooth for no reason. No problem when connected using the dongle, but now the mouse refuses to connect via Bluetooth if I don't have the dongle. I do not recommend it if you plan to use it with Bluetooth.

    • I also have this mouse and use it as Bluetooth everyday on my Mac.

  • I paid $64 for this mouse back in June 😭 But it has been a fantastic mouse tho.

  • I think this is the same seller from the Logitech pop keyboards
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/873939
They couldn’t fulfill my eBay order and this is one of the products they offered in exchange

Have said it before and will continue to keep warning people but when buying this mouse and using the dongle as the main connection source, make sure you're willing to sacrifice bluetooth or anything using the 2.4Ghz frequency around it because the dongle takes up every channel to maintain it's "Hyperspeed" connection.

If you want to mainly use it on a bluetooth connection and won't have the dongle connected 24/7, go ahead and buy it. This mouse is both beautiful, perfectly shaped and the fact you can change batteries will always be a pro for me.

    • +1

The dongle establishes a frequency somewhere around the 2.4GHz to communicate with the mouse. Don't think it will affect other devices.

      • +1

Except it actually does, I had one before returning it because of that issue. I have no clue why it does it, I talked to Razer about it and they said there's no fix for it, it's how their technology works. It jumps around all the channels on the 2.4Ghz and hogs them all up, I know this because I tested it and it worked for like a minute before that channel I changed to practically stopped working.

    Great mouse. Eats batteries.

Mine had issues with the scroll wheel after only 1 month of owning it. Good price otherwise but buyer be warned.

  • My fav mouse. I have 3.

Scroll wheel never had an issue.

It does use batteries, AA lasts about 3 months.

In contrast G305 would last near 12 months, but double click issues around 12 months as well resulting in warranty exchange.

    • I have been using the G305 daily for 3 years now. Absolutely no click issues. And 12 month battery is indeed a plus.

      • We've had two… no probs.

All manufacturers will have some kind of failure rate. Going from experience and online feedback, the failure rate for Logitech seems to be an order of magnitude under the failure rate for Razer products.
