Wow they can get up to 70km range these days. Pretty cool.
If you weight 60kg, then yes
ez
It doesn't… Unless you are light, ride slow , and there is no up hill..
I own one and realistically an AU restricted (25kmh) you might get 40-50ish KMs in sports mode with lots full throttle.
Now I have hacked it and it does 35kmh I barely get close to 40km range.
Yep mine gets 25km mb 30 if I was lucky (no stops and no wind) but I’m 115kg

That sounds like 60 km is quite achievable with normal riding.
No way. More like 40
"Sports" mode isn't exactly exhilarating, and "full throttle" is the same 25 km/h as you'll get on any scooter.
35km/h is terrifying on a scooter
Thanks grandpa
I do that speed on my ebike on flat, would be silly with those tiny wheels.
Unless you have perfect paths, have not seen many of those in Syd.
More like 30-40 on top speed.
What is 2025 edition? Isnt this year 2024?
It's from the future
I thought we used DeLoreans for that?
At least it used to be for people my age…
Wonder how they fit one of these on the back of a scooter…?
Doesn't really matter. As long as it has a flux capacitor and it can reach 88 miles an hour any vehicle can do it.
Great price! Is this the version that can be speed hacked?
that'll sure increase your insurance premium
Do you insure your bicycle as well?
if RACV road assist counts as insurance, Yes
@hopper: Why would road assistance count as insurance? In that case, does that mean I can cancel my car insurance and only pay the $50-100 yearly fee instead?
What insurance??
Yep. I bought one from JB 2 months ago and speed hacked with iPhone via BLE scanner. 35km is game changer though over 25. I also bought Beam scooter the other day and although I can’t speed hack, it I find it a little more comfortable to ride and beats my G2 up a hill slightly more. I’d still take the G2 though as it’s foldable.
$400 beam? Thinking of getting one if they do the price further
Yeah. In Brisbane they said they have another 1000 coming soon.
@vagfinger: Ooof yeah I'm keeping an eye on them. Reckon they will drop price at all?
@Jazza2400: Probably. The newer ones have indicators and phone mount in the middle. They are stripped of everything and have a new controller and wrapped with black vinyl over the holes. They might come after Dec 2
@vagfinger: I'm holding out hope they put the newer ones up for sale - they're leaps and bounds ahead of the standard ones. I can still hit 18km/h up a 14% gradient on the newer ones, the Solos can barely crack 7km/h.
@Ozymandias: The new Saturn 5 is what you want. I’m not sure they have the solo in Brisbane
@vagfinger: That's the one. The Solo though is the one on sale at the moment, definitely have/had it in Brisbane.
Could you pelase share a link for the hack?
@littlesoldier: Thanks
Do you post this in every listing for something you're not interested in?
I used one for 8 months, while waiting for a car to be delivered. It was a life saver.
And pay stamp duty, roadworthy, registration, insurance? Why are you even commenting
Yes, they could have also bought and sold a motorbike. What's your point?
All you suckers buying cars. I personally purchased a plane and it was a lifesaver. No more airport security.
Ive never posted this JOKE before EVER!!! ffs
They're good for short distance 'pop up the shop' trips. I want an EV, but until one I'd like comes along, at least some of my trips save me firing up the car and can be done from my solar power.
How do you handle the security of the scooter while in the shops?
I live in (near) a small country town. Not an inner city crime spot. Even so, if you leave it unlocked the scooter turns on an alarm if moved unless you unlock it with your phone. I also have a lock.
i see it's on discount but overall e-scooters should be that expensive should they?
This is one of the better ones you can get, and I'm pretty sure it's an ATL.
As for being expensive, compared to what? A quality road bike, a petrol scooter, a motorbike?
If this was $888 pickup in Sydney recently, I suppose it might approach this price again during Black Friday.
So tempted with the price, but my F65 is still going strong….
Good price I paid $700 for a Ninebot G30 during covid which is still going great ! Almost done 3,000km on it!
NSW considering making these legal soon, tempted but holding off till clarity on that
Source?

Assuming you live in inner suburb, work is an hour away, groceries are 15mins away, how/when do you guys use this? Is it for casual fun riding only?
I would love to get one of these e-scooters..Some use cases ,
-You can ride it in your last mile trip from the train to work/home
-You can use it for the light groceries trips.
-Casual fun rideNice, thanks
I take my Autistic son (8 years) on f40 for a ride on evenings (He can't balance cycle yet) , he loves it to core. and my dad who is 67 loves it when he comes for visit from overseas. i got a multifunctional seat for him to make it more comfortable to sit and ride.
Nice!
I ride 3km between station and home at one end, and 2km between station and work at the other end. Hardly use my car these days.
Any issues taking it on the train and people not happy with it?
I try really hard not to be annoying with it. I sit in the disabled area (melb train) and obviously move when needed. I fold it up and put it under my legs. If it gets really busy I stand it up on one wheel vertically. I haven't had any negative comments and it's been a year.
@rad000: nice
I wonder if that is the same if riding on the bus
@Poor Ass: I haven't even attempted the bus. Not sure if it's even allowed on but seems like a lot less space in there.
Wouldnt have thought so, have seen people on the train with these. As long as youre not blocking seats with it, shouldnt be an issue.
I found it a pain to find a spot to put my scooter when the train was busy. It's an awkward bulky item. If you also carry a backpack, suddenly you're the guy with a lot of stuff. I don't catch the train since moving, and I don't miss it. The bus is even worse, particularly coaches, there's nowhere to put a scooter.
@cerealJay: Coaches no under carriage?
@Poor Ass: I'm thinking of the one time buses replaced trains, and I had my scooter. The driver didn't offer storage underneath.
@cerealJay: yeh those replacement ones they don't offer
awesome!
I put a milk crate on mine and can take it to bunnings/BCF/grocery to save a trip in the car.
(Although I have to admit I haven't been game to leave it locked up outside Carousel.)
Is the $999 price for iScoot instore only? Website shows $1179.
I saw it on the iscoot site for $999. They must have increased it.
Yeah looks like it unfortunately.
Back at $999, online.
Ah nice. Didnt realise these weigh almost 25kg, not really suitable for carrying onto the train, might wait for the F2 pro to go on sale instead.
HODL for 11.11?
I got this from the Ninebot store in Parramatta for $888.
This scooter is amazing but it is very heavy if that is a concern.Yep it’s got a big battery that heavy
I had them for 4 months. It's a great scooter, the suspension is way better than cheaper model. The only downside for me is the weight. I used to carry it on the train but the gap between train and platform makes it hard to carry because it's heavy
does carrying it all the time makes it easier as you would build more muscle?
Back at $999, online.
I've owned the Segway MAX G2 for a few months now. I was able to speed hack it to 35kph, which is the perfect speed for me.
This is my fourth scooter and my favourite. I like that it looks similar to other budget scooters, which I think helps as far as theft desirability goes.
The shockers front/rear make it a pleasure to ride off road or on rough roads. The app gets regularly updated with new features, the most recent is "BOOST" mode-
which gives you extra power for several seconds. But $999 is a great price, I paid $1,149 about 5 months ago. What's your range after hacking the speed?
Including my backpack I weigh 95KG and I usually get about 28km range while riding 30+kph in "sports" mode.
If I ride in "drive" mode at 25kph I get close to 40km range. So if I was to ride somewhere at top speed in sports mode for 15km,
I would then need to switch to drive mode for the trip home and get home with less than 1/2 a bar remaining for a total of 30km's.
So riding over the 25kph does eat into your range, but "speed hacking" the scooter doesn't effect the range under 25kph.
It's a great commuter scooter and is fun to ride on dirt trails (not mud).
I had the original Ninebot Max without shockers and the shockers alone on the MAX G2 make this scooter an absolute pleasure to ride. Can the official app still be used normally after speed hacking? What if the app tries to update the firmware, is that something to watch out for after hacking?
I've owned 3 Segway scooters the Ninebot MAX, P100 and my current MAX G2, each of them I unlocked myself and I never had an issue after updating the firmware or app.
So yes the app operates as normal. I'm pretty sure Segway is not interested in trying to re-lock unlocked scooters. This would be terrible for their sales.
Sure Segway wants to abide by Australian laws but they also want customers to enjoy the full potential of their scooters.Anyone also got the speed unlock cable for free? What's the difference with using the unlock cable vs the Bluetooth hex mod?
