TILLREDA Portable Induction Hob 1-Zone $49 (Usually $69) + $5 C&C ($0 over $50 Spend/ in-Store) @ IKEA

We have this (two actually). It's great.

A cheap alternative to an expensive full induction stovetop install when we turned the gas off.

Only complaint is it has no timer, if you have a need for that. Has child/accidental bump lock.

Was on sale 4 months back for maybe $60 but haven't seen it this low before.

Decent resale value too when you're done with it, they sell well on marketplace.

Bought one online Sunday. In transit.

  • Is it the same price in-store? Delivery unavailable for my postcode and $5 click n collect fee to pick up 🤷‍♂️

    • Yep same price instore as online. Ah thats a pain, i did click and collect and no fee for pickup 🤔 but added a couple of things, pickup min spend maybe?

Yep click and collect is free over $50, just add a $1 item, these are great for $2 if you haven't tried them, https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/bevara-sealing-clip-set-of-26-m…

Laada batteries (eneloop equivalents) are also great if they're in stock or available online.

Great way to try out induction before fully making the switch.

  • I have one it's good.

I have had one for just over a year and use it everyday.

It is one of those ‘why didn’t I get this years ago?!’ especially for renters who have anything but induction stoves.

The only negative, and this applies to likely all induction stoves of this type, is the minimum saucepan size ie if you are wanting to heat up on a very, very small saucepan it will not activate.

The buzzing sound becomes white noise and it is easy to clean.

I've been using the older larger version for 3 years now, every day. It has replaced my infrared stove. Bought this smaller newer one a few months ago and using that too so that I can cook 2 dishes at once. It's a good stove.

  • How loud is the fan? I have one from China from many years ago, and the fan is very loud during operation.

    • +1

The fan is quiet (during use and after), its the buzz that is more distinctive, similar in volume i'd say to a quiet microwave. You can tell its on.

This is very good value. The only thing to be aware of is when you spill water on the glass surface, it gets very slippery, and the controls won't respond either.

So basically if you're boiling water for pasta or similar, make sure it doesn't boil over - and if it does, be ready to turn it off at the plug.

  • Bugger. No delivery option for me. Not for this, anyway.
