  • Is this worth it? love the original but never tried the DLC

    • +5

Absolutely worth it. The latest DLC (Repentance) adds so many new mechanics, characters, floors and enemies that it's effectively a sequel.

    • +1

Most definitely worth it! If you loved the original, Rebirth added a lot, as did Afterbirth and Afterbirth+.
Repentance more than doubled the replayability. Admittedly I completed the game entirely before Repentance released and deleted my save to start over on its release. It took almost 3 years playing about one run a day to complete the dead god achievement and I'll still play it when I have a chance.

  • Waiting for Repentance to reach an ATL on GOG. Didn't think I'd be waiting this long…

Strange that you can't seem to buy it separately on Steam.

Edit: Scratch that, looks like you can on a different screen, or maybe not. It's so confusing…

    • +2

It is confusing, my understanding is that repentance requires Afterbirth and Afterbirth+ so is only sold as a bundle on Steam.

      • I think I have Afterbirth and Afterbirth+ on GOG. I just need Repentance. They must have changed the pricing structure or something as the ATL on Steam was supposedly 50% off but the full price is like $70 now.

        • Looking at the bundle price Afterbirth+ isn't on sale so it's the regular $14, Repentance is 50% off at $10.75. Total bundle price is $42.24.

Since you have it on GOG though you'll have to wait for it to go on sale there.

Good vote because my brother who passed away used to love this game, maybe I can give it a try

    • It's definitely worth a try!

    • +1

      Sorry for your loss

  • +1

One day this game and it’s DLC will go on sale for consoles…one day.

  • +3

Honestly one of the best games of all time.

  • +1

Absolute bargain for what is hundreds of hours of entertainment. Fantastic game and wholesome community surrounding it - fall asleep most night to Sinvicta runs on YouTube.

  • +1

Fyi I managed to get repentance for $8.50 if that's all you are looking for! It was part of the blue king bundle but I had everything else already 🫶

  • Finally! I've stayed on Afterbirth+ and held off on Repentance in the vain hope I'd complete more of AB+ before buying more DLC.

Currently at 800+ hours and 56% achievements, been trying to beat Greedier on Lost for the last few weeks and failing miserably.
