    Hi Rep!

If I set some filters (flight duration, airlines, dates etc), can I save that and get emails/notifications when there are changes?
If not, is it possible to add those filters into a URL which I can then add to my instance of Change Detection?

Open jaw from Fukuoka to Tokyo would make for a good holiday. Would money back tracking on the Shinkansen.

Open jaw travel is a type of airline ticket that allows travelers to start and end their journeys in different locations. The name comes from the way the itinerary looks on a map, which resembles an open jaw.
Open jaw tickets are popular with travelers who want to visit multiple destinations in one trip without having to return to their starting point. They can be economical and time-saving, and can sometimes be cheaper than booking separate one-way tickets

Ooh didn’t know about this. Now to look for more holidays lmao

Oh to MEL to Fukuoka and the NRT to MEL is not open jaw because it starts and ends in MEL, right? What’s this kind of route called then?

        • I did MEL->SG->NRT->KIX->SG->MEL and just called it yo yoing

I'm doing an open jaw from Osaka to Narita next year with Singapore airlines. Came out to around $1000 per pax.

Only problem is the fairly long layover of 8 hours on midnight and Yotel Changi is fully booked out. Might have to get creative with sleeping in Changi airport…

  • there ever a sale either side of school holidays?

    • Haha Dreamland.
      I wish too

That's why I try and book on points a year out

I just looked up a random Brisbane - Singapore - Osaka route and it leave at ~6pm, arrrives ~12am. Then departs ~8am and arrives ~4pm.

This sounds horrible! You'll have to spend money and book accommodation in Singapore or sleep at the airport gate. I've heard Singapore airport is nice but after a 6hour flight and mignight-8am is not going to be fun.

I know this is all about saving money, but I would rather spend the extra and get a direct flight. 9hours vs 22hours.

You could incorporate a layover in Singapore for a day or two.

Not so, if you are okay with sleeping on planes.

Have a look on each day of the week, and you'll probably find better options. I recently booked BNE-SIN-NRT leaving about 3pm in the afternoon, arriving SIN about 11pm (Brisbane time), 2-hour layover, then fly SIN-NRT for 7 hours during which you can sleep. Arrived at NRT at 7am local time, and stored my luggage with my Tokyo hotel about 9:30am local time. Got the first day In Tokyo without paying any accommodation costs.

On the way back, found a flight leaving Osaka just before midnight local time, so slept almost all the way to SIN. Then did a 4-hour stopover in SIN during the daytime, and there are plenty of things to do at SIN without leaving the secure part of the airport. Arrived back in BNE about 4pm BNE time.

So the travel time to Japan was about 17 hours, but that includes sleeping overnight. The travel time back was 19 hours, but that also includes sleeping overnight. All of the sleeping was on the planes, and I was awake for both stopovers.

Can we stop over in Singapore for a few days when we purchase this type of return flight?
