54cm wide?
This is what we have and it's been great for a basic freestanding oven / cooktop.
https://www.binglee.com.au/products/euromaid-efs54fc-ses-54c…Thanks a lot. That is perfect. I was trying to find non-white version for ages in that price range
You're not changing your cabinets in the reno? 54cm is a legacy size, ok for a low-cost straight swap but otherwise gives you an impractically small oven and cooking surface.
Yeah changing cabinet as well
@yjun355: Standard cabinet is 60cm. Kitchen (and bathrooms) are key to your property value
Would you have recommendation for accompanying rangehood?
Do you want a canopy or slimline slide-out? Vented or recirculating? If you intend to cook every day I'd suggest spending more to get an induction cooker and saving elsewhere; assuming you don't already have gas.
I heard the (Victorian) government is offering a rebate for people who switch to electric cooktops. If you are in Victoria, probably have a read about it. I think it’s $180. Barely covers a call out fee for the tradie to step foot on your property but if you were going to switch, you may as well claim the rebate.
Sorry, the only decent electric cooktop is induction. But they are hard to find in freestanding, without spending thousands.
You can pick up an oven plus induction cooktop under $800 (e.g. Ikea or Appliances Online) . Just needs a little bit of diy cabinetry, but well worth it!!
Cabinet here makes it easy :-) $900-1k all up, and a few hours work for a beginner. Well worth it.

Seriously, non-induction electric cooktops suck. You'll never want to go back.
