Lyca Mobile: $7.50 Cashback on 10GB 28-Day $7.50 SIM or eSIM (New Customers) @ TopCashback AU

690

Higher rate than NCs deal, resulting in a free SIM.

Cashback terms and exclusions

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 60 days of purchase for cashback to be eligible.

  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it may result in an untracked purchase and will be ineligible for cashback. The existing customer rate will therefore apply to subsequent orders.

  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Customer status (new or existing) for Lyca Mobile generally entails a new mobile number and/or email address. Lyca Mobile has sole discretion on determining status and acting upon fraudulent and/or excessive transactions as they deem necessary. TopCashback has no control over this.

  • eSIMs are eligible for cashback, but must be activated within 60 days of purchase.

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.

  • Always return to TopCashback and click through via the pink cashback button to the retailer's website for each new transaction.

  • Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Good to know

  • Ensure you disable plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole & VPNs prior to clicking/tapping from TopCashback as they will prevent your order from tracking.

  • If you cancel / return / exchange / modify your completed order, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

What to do and when

  • Missing cashback claims must be lodged within 100 days of purchase.

Enjoy!

I've never dealt with lyca mobile and not regretted it.

    hard pass.

    • +2

I've never dealt with lycamobile (other than purchasing/using their sims in other countries years ago) but am tempted to give them a try just to how bad their porting process really is.

The service I'm porting doesn't matter if there's a couple of days not being connected. EDIT - Hmm, tales of people losing their number entirely definitely making me reconsider.

  • what happened to boost deals?

    • +2

      Gone with the wind

    • Surely they'll be back for black Fri

Lyca is the most difficult telco to deal with … once chatted with one of their CS team member, as if I was chatting to someone from another world … not again!

Don't use Lyca Mobile, guys, I had a very horrible experience with them.
I want to keep an infrequent used number, and I bought a one-year prepaid plan and transferred my number to them, the first a few months were normal, and after about three or four months I didn't use that number, my number had been transferred to another stranger, my plan still have about half year to expire, but my service was been canceled without any notice and my number was been given to another person. Even though I complained to ombudsman but because the number has been given to another person, I only got refund what I paid, nothing else.
The customer service was terrible. Avoid them, nothing else I can say for this company.

honestly not worth it even for free, the hassle i had porting in was worth $8 or so of my time

  • +3

Damn the sign up and activation process is so difficult and not intuitive at all. No clear instructions whatsoever

    • +1

Use the puk and iccd numbers from the email to activate

      • +1

That's what I did after finding no other way. How is a normal person supposed to know that without any instructions

        • Nfi lol

Topcashback is slowly turning into the others, tracking but not paying whenever you spend a higher amount

    • +2

Have you even tried contacting TA at any point?

  • +2

It’s pre-paid and looks like auto-renewal can be cancelled online. I’m tempted just as a burner eSIM for 10GB data.

  • -3

Avoid them at all cost… They disconnected my number after 3 months when others give you around 6 after your credit expires. Absolute rubbish company!

    • +5

      @MR-AM I'm not a Lyca customer. Unfortunately it's in the terms: https://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/how-to/i-have-not-used-my-l…

Lycamobile automatically deactivates SIM cards that haven't been used for calls or texts for over 90 days. As a result, such prepaid SIM cards can't be reactivated, and the associated mobile number becomes unavailable. If you're facing this issue, please reach out to Lycamobile's customer services or join the LIA chat. An advisor will assist you promptly.

Guessing receiving a text after expiry will count as text usage? If so how long does it last beyond 3 months

    • -1

3 months is standard for Vodafone

For anyone considering this plan their disconnection policy is clearly described in the Critical Information Summary:

      Disconnected numbers
Your Lyca Mobile number will be disconnected if you do not recharge your plan or purchase a top-up for ninety (90) consecutive days from either the activation or expiry dates of your last recharge, whichever is the latest.

We will send you SMS notifications at 60 days and 80 days to remind you before disconnection. If no action is taken within this period, your agreement will be automatically terminated, and this termination will be considered initiated by you.

The CIS also describes the 180 day quarantine period after your number has been disconnected during which in some circumstances, they MAY be able to reconnect a disconnected number:

      Quarantine period
Once your Lyca Mobile number is disconnected, it will be in quarantine for 180 days. During this period, you will not be able to hold Rights of Use for your number, however, it cannot be assigned to anyone else.

If the number is within the 180-day quarantine period, in some circumstances, we may be able to reconnect a disconnected number. Please call customer support on 1300 854 607 for assistance

I got one from the other deal, can i get another one? Will lyca allow it?

    • +1

      That's the $7.50 question

    • +1

I have both tracked at $7 + $7.50. Will it get approved though is another question.

    Ordered: 10:42am
    Tracked: 10:53am

I'll see how we go with activation once the SIM arrives.

  • +2

I've just registered with eSim and new number.
Had some issues with verifying WA driver licence, worked on the 3rd time.
Everything else was flawless - eSim is active and working within 5 mins, account registered and stopped auto renewed online with no issues.
    Topcashback tracked the purchase.
So far so good (for a free data ;) )
P.S. don't forget to register a new JBHifi perks on it;)

Lycamobile is one of the most painful process when it comes to porting and that even if you are lucky it will happen. Last time when i bought couldn't even go through the porting process because their system couldn't generate a number before the porting. Wasted so much time & finally had to port to another provider. They are complete waste of time, don't waste your money.

    • I know what you meant Lycamobile is PITA now!!!

  • Does anyone have a link to the CIS for this TopCashback $7.50 10GB 28-Day plan?
The list of 28-day plans on the Lyca site does not include a 10GB one.
They have a 4GB plan for $15/month so I also would like to know if that $7.50 might be a 1/2 price discount for the first month reverting to something else ongoing.

Has anyone tried buying more than 1 sim using different emails and still have cashback tracked at the new customer rate?

    • +3

How did it go or are you waiting for someone else to try ?

  • +1

Topcashback is not tracking well for me, even my boost missing cashback claim from Sep was in review.

    • TCB use to be quick

      • My tracking strike-rate with TCB is 100.00% and this one tracked in eleven minutes. What are other people doing wrong?

        • Would like to know too.
Edge, extension, private and click through..

  • Watch out, I got a message in May for a sim, that I didn't use much to recharge every 60 days - which is minimum $10 - to keep it from being suspended in the next 5 days. This was a first notice out of nowhere. Din't even give enough time to order a free sim online. Got a $2 local amaysim card and ported right away.

  • do u need to send a text message to some number when porting to lyca? my current plan is out of credit

  • -1

can you port in if your other sim has no credit to verify sms code? what is the minimum age can a child port their number in? what happens to number if you dont auto renew after 28 days does it still stay active for 6 months giving you a chance to port out or do you need credit to reply to sms port out request?

    • Your third question has been answered in this thread.

  • Avoid!

Unable to register the esim on my phone, said to be "not ready, contact service provider".

  • Tried to port in and also tried new, both got " You have reached maximum number of registrations" even I don't have any active Lyca sim. Something wrong with Lycamobile.

  • Taking a long time to activate the new eSIM

    • D'oh. You gotta activate the eSIM online. I called customer service, they answered quickly and were helpful.
