Might stock up for next year. When the kids come trick or treating, the trick will be on them as the lollies will all be well past the use by dates.

Seems like the party is over.

  • I saw a group of trick or treaters yesterday - they went up to an apartment building but then turned back without trying any buzzers. Any idea why?

    • Trick or treating is largely opt in in australia, the "rule" appears to be to approach houses that have any decorations, and skip the rest. Not sure how that translates to unit blocks.

      No decorations = no candy.

In my area, I'd say 5-10% had some form of decoration. Of these some have candy by the door in a bowl, and if not, kids would knock on the door. If there's no decoration, no kids would ever bother knocking or disturbing someone when the chance of them having candy are incredibly low. I suspect these kids just scanned for decoration and just turned back.

      • Back in the late 90s my parents house would always get trick or treaters ringing the bell, even without decorations. Doesn't happen anymore though.

        • Must have lived in an affluent area or something.

Halloween did not exist during my childhood. I think it's great for the kids.

  • Understand youโ€™re running a business but this stuff is all plastic rubbish that ends up in landfill or on beaches, etc. You should reconsider importing and selling it. Frustrates me (and i have two young kids) that itโ€™s a Chinese plastic-fest nightmare. I wish when we imported this event from the US/Canada, we just took the fun community thing (maybe without the sugar overload) and left the plastic trash behind.

Meanwhile tiny plastic straws are banned.
