It's a bit hard do pinpoint how they do it but it's generally thought if you've purchased alot of stuff off their store that's when they single you out. I've probably spent thousands on their store and in April this year they had an Easter sale. Which I couldn't access anything at the sale price. And ever since then every single sale they've had everything is full price for me. Metas excuse to me is occasionally we do sales for "random" customers and I'm not lucky enough to be picked for it. But it's been every sale. If you look on Reddit there's quite a few people in the same boat as myself. It's very frustrating.
@krammis76: Yeah not only that, they send you notifications about the sale, but than you cant access it. Surely this is false advertising and against whatever consumer rights we have…..
@velcrochicken: I've threatened consumer affairs at them a few times. They don't even acknowledge it what so ever. Metas suggestion is for me to make a different account, buy games on sale on that account and gift them to my original account. How damn elegant!

Yeah it's absolutely terrible customer service isn't it. If you haven't already get on chat support and chuck up a stink about it. They've given me a bunch of credit each time there has been a sale and I've complained. They are slowing down now on giving me credit but they generally still do. Which is absolutely nuts because I actually want to spend money on the store. But refuse to when I'm singled out.
@krammis76: This is the corporation that tried to introduce company scrip. Maybe they think you are run a LAN cafe and not a genuine customer?

Holding out for a Black Friday deal on the Quest 3.
Suspect they may do a deal on the older 128gb model to clear that stock. Anyone heard word of that?

Very much doubt there will be any Black Friday sales on 3 512 as the price just dropped a lot. Maybe on the 3S if they planned it, but probably doubtful as well.
I suspect you are probably right but the recent price drop shouldn't really prevent a BF deal. The price it is at now is its (new) price. it's not on "special" at the moment. Surely they will budge just a little to take advantage of a boost in sales over BF like evryone else, even if it's with some add ons or store credit if not the price itself?
@paulsmithy: I'd be shocked if there wasn't any deal on at least 1 form of the Q3, for the reasons you mentioned.
@paulsmithy: If anyone has 128 3s left we might get something on that. Otherwise I think it will just be accessories. They can’t really bundle a game unless it’s on top of Batman… but then they include a few months of their subscription service - so probably not. Store credit could be an option but there are so many affiliate links for YouTubers now to get credit … but they may do that. I think they know if they don’t give us the $50 off, we will still buy it after BF. I’ll probably just grab one before and hope to save some on accessories…. see if I can hold out haha

On that note, there are some pretty decent discounts in the current quest sale. Eg "the last worker" 27 -> 5 aud (not that great a game though)
