    • Hola? Keitaro is Japanese … Unless if it is only a nickname.

      • +3

        Ummm. I'm Spanish. FFS.

According to the "AI" that Google now puts at the top of all search results:

In Spanish, "ffs" is "fracción de filtración" which translates to "filtration fraction" in English

Welcome to Australia’s foremost bargains sharing community.

Please do not post bargains, instead please make posts about being caught out by the 3G shutdown and “who’s at fault” car accident questions.

    • thanks a lot. Haha, ok

Japanese in Melbourne? Enjoy your life there 😀. Summer is coming 😎. Sometimes there are free tickets for certain events, but you need free time on weekends to have more fun in Melbourne.

    • You could join Ozb Meetups in Melbourne next year. Register from October.
    • I still remember long time ago I got free tickets from Ozb to watch footy with some friends in MCG, Melbourne.
    • Also still in memory I got free ticket from Ozb to watch soccer in AAMI Park, Melbourne.
    • Free entry to Australia Open (Tennis) during summer before weekend.
    • Formula 1 (F1) event is expensive except if you live/stay nearby (free entry) and have proof that you are resident around there. There's one trick that may help to get free entry by changing address in certain bank apps (like Up bank etc.) and print the bank statement with the address nearby, but I never try this :P
    • Moto GP in Phillip Island is far, but if you like or want to watch it, why not.
    • Japanese Festival in Melbourne is usually big and crowded in Federation Square, Melbourne. There are other festivals and interesting events that people can check from Facebook Events and Eventbrite for example. Polish Festival is big too there if you like to try other food, enjoy the festivities, take photos and videos.
    • Enjoy New Year's Eve and watch fireworks in Docklands, close to Melbourne CBD. People can enter from Southern Cross Station for example. Docklands is behind …
    • Parade during Australia Day in Melbourne CBD.
    • St. Kilda Music Festival is huge and free every year.
    • ah yes, you mean the OzBargain birthday meetup? Yeah, will look into it next year. The free sporting events sounds good. I would have thought the Aussie Open would cost a bit to get in though. Thanks for the list

Yes. Australia Open is usually free on Thursday-Friday. That's how I got in there in the past. No free entry/ticket on Saturday-Sunday …

Every Wednesday night from 20 Nov, there will be night market in Queen Victoria Market. Still free tram zone :)
        https://thenightmarket.com.au/

Certain fruits and vegetables could be cheaper in the afternoon before the market closes (like between 1pm to close). Just need to walk around to compare prices. Maybe in aisle B if I remember correctly.

Do you live around CBD? If West Melbourne or North in Epping, the market there could be cheaper.

        • nah, I live in the south east suburbs. Will still check out the Queen Victoria Market though and look into free Australian open entry. Do you know if it's for the main tournament or just the qualifiers?

          • +1

@Keitaro: Just the qualifiers of course. That's why weekend tickets are expensive. But in the past I saw the world's no.2 tennis player Rafael Nadal when I was there (free entry) ;-)

Australia Open 2025 will be held in January.

Since you live in South East Melbourne, have you come to Moorabbin Air Museum (airplanes)? The ticket is still $10 for years until now, I checked (if correct). Nice to take photos and walk around. Another great airplane museum is far in the West, which is RAAF museum in Point Cook (free last time, bring ID like passport for example). But check the opening days in Google Maps (not every day) and better go by car. See the photos in google maps, really nice airplanes for taking photos. Also people can sit in a German military plane (great photo) in RAAF museum.

Another nice place in South East Melbourne for example Rippon Lea Estate. Check google maps and see the photos.

If you want to see wild kangaroos, I have seen them in far North. Either go by car or by tram 86 from Melbourne CBD (1 hour), stop near Uni Hill Town Centre shopping mall / DFO Uni Hill. I walked to Plenty Gorge Park/Parklands. I saw like around 100 kangaroos, some wild rabbits, and birds. The best time for me to arrive there is like around 4 pm (their eating time). Lunch time maybe hard to find them. People cannot get too close to the wild kangaroos as they will run away. I have photos as good memory :) I think not that many people know about this area.

            • @neoleo: hey, sorry for the late reply. Not been to the Moorabbin Museum yet, looks good, will put it on the list! Haha, I did meet a girl who mentioned wanting to get married at Rippon Lea Estate so will check out what makes it good.

It looks like you've left Melbourne since you're in Sydney now?

              • @Keitaro: Yes, I live in Sydney now. You can see the photos of the locations that you want to visit from Google Maps for example. The building and colour of Rippon Lea Estate is unique and interesting, good for taking photos and people can walk around inside the building too.

Summer is coming :) You can check for events in Melbourne too especially weekend from Facebook Events or other website/app like Eventbrite.
