Cheap 12v Battery Charger from AliExpress

I recently bought a Outbax/Gantrax LiFePO4 battery from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/872761
I needed a charger for the battery so I went to AliExpress and looked for one with a dedicated LiFePO4 mode.

I somehow managed to get this at AU$14.63
Subtotal AU$24.99
Shipping Free shipping
Coins -AU$0.50
Tax AU$2.45
Bonus -AU$12.31
Total AU$14.63

Upon testing, it is drawing 150w and not pumping out a lot of heat. I am genuinely surprised.

Just wanted to share :)

    Well… like everything else from AliExpress… it "says" 10 amps… :D

Have you put a amp meter on it (that you didnt get from AliEpress) and tested it? Like a clamp meter? Is this "150w" it is drawing, it it at the 240v plug or across the 12v clamps?

    10a @ 13.7v should only be 137w. 150w @ 13.7v would be about 11a.

    • Unfortunately I don't have a clamp meter. It's 150w mains draw. Which I think is pretty decent. Yes some power goes to heat and powering the fan. But it's definitely not 50% cause I'd notice 75w of heat or sound. That's why I'm inclined to believe the 10A reading on the display. What I'm saying is at AUD$15, I'm surprised.

  • How'd you get the $12.31 bonus?

    • I honestly have no idea. When I went to checkout it was automatically applied. Must be from all my previous purchases.
