Got the Aldi one (rebadged Worx). $15. Earlier this year. It's quite decent.

    • Is this the same as the Aldi unit?

      • Nope

  • Thanks, bought one and paid with Ultimate Home gift card.

Thanks OP. I’ve got an Ozito which has been very handy so now I have a spare.

  • Do these have any actual power? Would they be able to drill a screw into some hard wood, or more for art/craft style of drilling?

    • It's not a drill it's a screwdriver.
It's also not an impact driver.

I have a Bosch IXO screwdriver and it can screw in small self tapers into wood. Cant recall if it was hardwood or not. But in short, horses for courses

      • I should have said, "screw a screw" rather than "drill a screw". What i meant was, do these have the power to be actually useful. I guess at $15 we can't expect miracles.

Cant say from experience on this screwdriver but my IXO works well when assembling flat pack furniture.

Your question is kind of like saying can I use a pocket knife to cut tree branches. Sure you could try and might succeed but it's not the intended purpose.
You're not going to do any carpentry with one of these vs a drill or impact driver.

Electric screwdrivers are good for PC assembly, flat pack furniture assembly and small odd jobs when you'd appreciate convenience of an electric screwdriver vs manual such as replacing existing hinges on cupboard doors, changing door locks, fitting drywall anchors to hang picture frames. In those cases you have pre-existing screw holes or a soft material to screw into.

    • I have an Ozito version , same voltage. I find it very useful . Almost as much power as you can do by hand.

      This is good value.
