3-Axis Stabilization
With 3-axis stabilization, capture smooth, lossless, on-the-move creations that impress and wow. Osmo Mobile 6 integrates DJI's advanced stabilization technology to put strong, stable, shake-free results at your fingertips.

Smooth Operator
Conveniently check the battery level, the system status indicator, and switch between gimbal modes with the new built-in [status panel]. Press the M button to hop between the four modes to meet your filming needs or add creative flair.

Follow
In Follow mode, the camera view follows the gimbal's pan and tilt movements and stays stable during rolls. This mode is great for shooting up, down, and diagonally.

Tilt Locked
The camera view only follows the gimbal's pan movements and stays stable during tilts and rolls—ideal for shooting horizontally or moving around a subject.

FPV
In FPV mode, all three axes of the gimbal follow the movement of the main body. This is wonderful for dynamic filming of still subjects like landmarks, buildings, or statues.

SpinShot
Push the joystick to the left or right to control the rotation of the camera view and create dynamic footage. Perfect for shooting push, pull, and high-angle movements.

Just Roll to Control
Effortlessly and fluidly control zoom and focus with Osmo Mobile 6's new [side wheel]. Roll the wheel to adjust the focal length for flexible composition and zoom in and out with buttery smoothness. And for even more cinematic control, press the side wheel once to switch to manual focus.

Timelapse
Warp time and space with Timelapse, Motionlapse, and Hyperlapse. With simple Motionlapse templates, you can blend beautiful moments into impressive clips.

DynamicZoom
Use Move In and Move Out modes to get stretching and compressing visual effects to create blockbuster dynamic moves with your phone.

Gesture Control
Gesture control makes taking a selfie or a group photo easy. Snapping a pic or starting a video has never been this convenient.

Panorama
Try three pano modes: 3x3, 240°, or CloneMe are available for your creative vision. Try, and you shall see.

Story Mode
Story mode provides various templates with matched camera movements, transitions, soundtracks, and more for users to share eye-catching videos with one effortless tap. Custom templates are also available. It's your video, you call the shots.

Keep Up
[ActiveTrack 5.0] is fully upgraded for more stable tracking at longer distances. [2] The improved version allows the front camera to track subjects that turn to the side or spin. Whether camping, traveling, or street shooting, the gimbal automatically keeps your subject dead center to make your footage more story-like.

Vlogs That Pop
Don't worry about bad lighting or distracting noise. With the [DJI OM Fill Light Phone Clamp] and [DJI Mic], you're prepared for any situation and equipped to elevate your content to new levels. [3]

DJI Mimo
Even beginners can create like a pro. In camera view, tutorials pop up at the start of many features for intuitive instructions and guides so you can [get started quickly].

[ShotGuides] automatically recognizes your scenario and recommends a shot sequence, along with a tutorial for how to get it. Choose from a range of templates, follow the instructions, and shoot like a pro in no time.

LightCut App

I have the 5; this thing is too niche. Modern phones have built-in stabilisation that is good enough to render this a lot less useful. It is goodfor tracking moving subjects and doubles as a selfie stick. I would not recommend unless you are really into phone cinematography (hyperlaspe e.g.).

    • +8

I beg to differ. Phone stabilisation doesn't come close to what this has to offer. Specially if you're running and filming.

      • +4

Honestly I can’t remember the last time I filmed while running and never saw someone doing that either.

        • +3

If you use your phone as your primary video device. A gimbal makes a significant difference. The video is super smooth! You can definitely tell the difference between the in-phone stabilisers.

        • +2

You probably neither have dogs nor kids.
Also, running was just an example of a "shaky" activity.

          • @DontNeedThis: You are correct. But I also have never seen someone running after their cat or dog and filming them.

      • +7

That's why I said a lot less useful as opposed to useless. If you own any mid to flagship phone from, say, the past 2 years, the built-in stabilisation plus software is rather comparable. I own an iPhone 14 Pro and the osmo 5, they yield very similar result tbh and I would probably not be able to consistently tell the difference in a blind test. In short, you might marginally better videos. It's not really day and night IF you have a good phone.

Check out iPhone 14 Pros action mode compared with iPhone 13.

Problem is the action modes crop in to achieve the stabilisation, reducing image quality. That being said I can’t be bothered lugging a gimbal around for travel videos 3 people will ever see.

          • @Vaiels:

Problem is the action modes crop in to achieve the stabilisation,

I’ve watched a lot of YouTube videos which is just filmed on Go Pro attached to chest. walking and running looks super smooth, I can full screen and max the quality on the iPad YouTube app and the video looks perfect.
better than a gimble imo and less noticeable too if in public.

I watched a review on new Go Pro and they said everyone chooses Go Pro because it’s the only one that doesn’t do weird stuff when you stop moving. all other ones do this weird effect to the video.

        • +1

That actually looks pretty impressive. It looks like you are limited to that mode, you can't use cinematic etc in conjunction? Either way it is still noticeable when someone uses a ginbal, particularly when panning etc.

          • +1

@hypie: Yeah I agree hence going back to the a gimbal is good for phone cinematographer. Average person like me, can’t be bothered to set it up every time

    • If that's what you think it's for then you don't know how to use it or what it's for

I recently thought I would look up the Osmo Pocket 3 for some irl vlogs, which is basically this but the camera as well. shocked at the prices they are all almost $1k.

why is the Osmo mobile so much cheaper? regularly $150~$170 ish for what is basically the Osmo pocket only it's missing the camera and micro sd card slot??

    • the cameras you put in this usually cost >$1000

      • but that’s because it’s a $1k phone. you can do so much more shopping, banking, YouTube, browsing ozb.

the camera on Osmo pocket is just the camera part with a micro sd reader and battery.

I thought about it more and maybe it’s because it sells much better. And osmo mobile is like their worst seller because people just prefer to pull the phone out and record, instead of spending a few more seconds setting up the gimbal.

    • I have the osmo pocket 3. The reasons it's worth it
      - expandable memory. Phones fill up fast.
      - the camera can spin around and face you, the equivalent on a phone is using the worser quality front facing camera
      - the osmo night filming capabilities destroy smart phones
      - it can do portrait or landscape at the click of a button

      • nice thanks. but 6 times more worth it??

        • the camera can spin around and face you,

tbf the Osmo mobile does that with two clicks of the button I think. it spins the phone around quickly. but pretty sure when you do that on the Pocket 3 the screen is still facing you. so yeah win for the pocket.

also yeah I heard the camera might be better quality.

The 5S is going for $149.95. Plenty of comparison reviews around

Modern pornographers use this. What’s your hobby?

  • Wish we could get a mini ronin for a price like this. Would love something to put my small mirrorless on.

Bought two gimbals in the past, they both ended up unused. Too much hassle to set up/balance and mount every time. admittedly built-in stabilisation is not as good but not far behind either (Samsung 23 Ultra).

I commented something similar on a very old post of this. a lot of users (or buyers) got upset and my comment got hidden. 😂

    • Really? Takes me about 45 seconds

      • It can take me a few good minutes to mount it/balance properly when the phone still had its case on. the phone is a bit heavy for these gimbals.

    • What do you mean by set up/balance? It shows a magnetic mount?

  • Do you recommend turning off phone's stabilisation while using this gimbal?

    • it only works with the DJI app, which yes turns it off pretty sure.

    • This is defs a way better deal IMO.

  • Is DJI Mimo app back in the app store? I was using my DJI Osmo until few years back when the app no longer in the app store and I just switched phones. Definitely annoying since you lose a lot of features without the app

    • +1

I just had a look and it isn't. You need to go to DJI to download the app and sideload it.

      • Sideload an app on iphone? Without a jailbreak?
That link you posted has a link that opens the app store and the app is there to download.

        • the app is not searchable on the play store

      • That's a bit of a shame. Wish they stuck with it it on the playstore or gave an official statement on why they are removed

  • I was planning on purchasing this, however you can't live stream to anything via the DJI software which is super disappointing. I'd love to auto-track my kids basketball games while livestreaming it.

What's annoying is the older DJI Osmo software actually allowed this, but not on the latest models. Super frustrating.

  • After a 360 camera but don't think there's any under $300 range.
