great cheers, be good if you can keep us updated
I know they have been gradually removing them & 2 Dec is cut off

    • what, i thought its only melb that removed e scooters from streets.

      • Beam lost their licence over an alleged breach of daily cap.

        From the Guardian:
"Brisbane has become the first Australian city to kick out an e-scooter operator, after the council cancelled the licence for Beam to operate over allegations it regularly breached its caps.

The Brisbane city council said it would now seek a replacement e-scooter operator for the city, after an investigation found Beam had “systematically exceeded” its cap on numbers by about 500 a day. The company has denied “assertions” made by council.

The council’s transport chair, councillor Ryan Murphy, confirmed on Monday that the city had “terminated its contract with Beam”."

      • Brisbane cancelled the contract after the whole rort of them having more scooters than permitted, they have recontracted neuron to replace them along with Lime who are already operating

      • +1

        Same in Canberra.
They suffered from an "administrative error".

        • apparently was quite a few cities around the world, think first discovered by a council in NZ then others picked up on it

For 300 bucks these things provide good value. Depends on use case as they don't fold either.

I bought 3 about a month or so ago. These things are pretty solid commercial quality scooters. They are near on indestructible given the amount of abuse they would of copped when they were hired out. In my opinion, they are really good value given they do 25km/h, have about a 40km range and besides having a few scrapes or scratches still are in reasonably good condition, they go hard and will probably last 5+ years and they only cost $300 each. This is a perfect first escooter if you haven't owned one before.

In saying that though, I couldn't help myself & I splashed out last week for an Inokim OX Super as I wanted something a bit quicker but this was $1600 so it depends how much you want to spend. For $300 I reckon the ex-hire scooters are great value.

    NOTE: handle does not fold.
Makes it much harder to take these in your car, or on public transport.

Folds pretty well when you wrap yourself around a tree

What would the battery health be like on these things?

    • No way to tell battery health, but mine won't reach 25 unless the battery is above approximately 70%.

  • 429 for the seated version, still in stock

  • Bought the older version for $300 last sale. Now bought the seated one for the suspension and dual braking. Anybody know if the seat is easy to remove?
