I've been eyeing this one and the HP Sprocket for a while. Been wanting to buy a photo printer to print out coloured labels for yoto cards and photos on the go, thought it would be a nice-to-have with two growing kids. This had been in the $160ish for weeks now.

Might get cheaper for Black Friday sales, I can't seem to see what it's price history is on camelcamelcamel. But given the very mediocre sales recently, I wouldn't hold my breath. This printer didn't go below $160 during the recent Prime day sales for example.

Zink paper sold separately, so will keep my eye on sale of those paper. Apparently cross compatibility between different brands of zink paper so that's a plus.

I can't seem to see what it's price history is on camelcamelcamel.

Because it is on Amazon US. CCC doesn't accurately track prices if sold by another Amazon country via Amazon AU. But you can see it on the US CCC site - https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B0BNLWXQZP?utm_campaign=…

Not the prices above are in USD. Back in Dec 2023 it was about AU118.82 before tax.

From my past 5 years of using Zink ecosystem. its is a slowly dying print format.
I have owned: HP sprocket, Polaroid zip, Kodak step touch. Used most brands of Zink paper.
From my experience, the contrast of the stock print is poor. Adjust for higher contrast and reduce "warmth" always produce better prints.
If only the quality of the zink is just slightly better, the convenience/cost is better than Instax, IMO.
If anyone has cheaper than the 50 print canon @$27. Please do share

    • The Canon Selphy isn't nearly as portable (you'll need to buy a PD power bank and USB-C to DC adapter bringing total cost between 250-300; not to mention being much bulkier) but can get 108 4" x 6" prints for $44.

Thank you for the suggestion, this is a good alternative I have considered as a travel companion for longer trips.
However, nothing beats the convenience/cost of the Zink 3x2 inch print stickers. The contained giggles as your friends notices their worst mugshot is stuck on their other friends back.
