[PC, Steam] Battlefield V Definitive Edition $8.99 (-85% off) @ Steam

210

Not as cheap as all time low 4 months ago but still big saving. Has a mostly positive rating on Steam and about 20,000 players each day according to SteamDB. Very modest system requirements too (despite still looking very pretty).

Also rated at 25% higher (by Steam user reviews) than Battlefield 2042 and seems to have 8000 more players per day and has much lower PC requirements (including 50GB less Drive space required👌)

Seems like it's worth a punt at this price.

Battlefield V Definitive Edition contains the Battlefield V base game and the definitive collection of content:

  • All gameplay content (weapons, vehicles, and gadgets) from launch, Year 1, and Year 2
  • All Elites
  • 84 immersive outfit variations for the British and German armies to enhance the WWII sandbox
  • 8 soldier outfits from Year 2
  • 2 weapon skins from Year 2, applicable to 10 and 4 weapons respectively
  • 3 vehicle dressings
  • 33 Chapter Reward items from Year 1

Haven't played this one in a long time. Does it still have a rampant cheater problem?

They updated it with EA Anti Cheat about 6 months ago, but I'm not sure if it's still working effectively for everyone. They also did this for BF1 a few days ago.

BF1 was so good. Haven't played that in years. Might be worth having a look.

Have clocked about 50 hours over the last year, don't think I've encountered a hacker once, in either OCE or Asia servers.

is there much players Asia Oce serviers?

        • +1

Always easy to find Asian servers any time of day, but you'll only see full OCE servers on weekends or around dinner time to late evening. Even then, there's at most two OCE servers at a time.

This game has one of the hardest campaigns I've ever played. I gave up after a few hours and didn't even get past chapter 1. Not recommended if you care about single player.

    • I recommend BF1 as probably the best singleplayer campaign of the BF series. The war stories are great. Not sure about difficulty issue here, maybe you were out of position. It can be a bit tricky in certain sections to work out where you're supposed to go since the maps are so open but there is normally a good spot to be.

Why is this better than 2042?

And thoughts on BF1 as of 2024?

    • +1

2042 has active servers/player base if you want PvP.

      BF-V has a campaign.

  • Which BF game is best for single player? I have no interest in multiplayer.

Battlefield 1 has a really good campaign, it's split up into different stories around the world. One of them has you play as an Australian :)
