    Bring back the Chip Pass

    • +25

      ok

    • That's only when they tried to promote the new app. Don't think there will be something like that again soon possibly some chips deals.

  • +14

The discount isn't aggressive enough for me.

    • +2

      yeah, offer doesn't slap

      • I’ll slap ya, 5 bucks each. $10 for kick in the nuts

  • Which week has the highest savings percentage?

    • +1

      I'd say the burgers

    • +10

      Wagyu burgers normally $18.50
      Salads $16.90
      12 HFC bites $14.50
      Lamb burgers $16.90

      • +6

For $12, they work out to be 35%, 29%, 17%, and 29% discounts.

Make them under $10s and I will try :)

  • +3

I remember when their burgers were under $10.
    Chip pass was alright though.

    • When I went to my first Grill'd here in WA the burgers a long time ago were already $12?

Wondering whether we got a Grill'd here later?

      • Probably. It was found in VIC

  • +1

    12 HFC bites for $12?????!!!’

    • +2

Makes it worse when you can put a dollar value on each bite, doesn’t it?

      • +1

And when you can get wicked wings for $1 a piece

  • +3

Week 2 will probably be KFC week for me.

    • +4

The 12 HFC bites week you're definitely going to be leaving hungry

    • Too bad there aren't any discounted pork burgers for you.

  • +10

Too bad they sign up their young employees to 'traineeships' so they can not only pay them the absolute lowest rate, but at the same times get govt incentives, all the while dragging out said traineeships for as long as possible by making the course material unavailable to staff.

    • Was this your experience? I didn't even know they did traineeships

      • What he was saying was that the caketraineeship is a lie

    • Sounds like a decent QSR business then, profit wise.

    • Ahh, the "OTR" approach

    • Not a new technique unfortunately in the fast food industry. I had this pulled on me in the early 2000s. Doesn't make it right but I suspect it's a common industry wide tactic.

  • Stopped going there years ago because the menu was so so boring, and prices too high. Maybe will try again with the discount.

That'll be the blandest Wagyu ever

I don't know how they stay in business. The have the least flavoursome food ever. Apparently some particular stores are exceptions but I've not found one of them.

    • They put “Healthy” in front of burger and fries so it must be good for you … my local one is always busy

  • Now they have some deals for a solo person, worked out to be up to 35% discount for the wagyu burger, tho Sunset is my fav.

Can anyone tell Wagyu burgers from burgers w/ more fat?

A cook person told me once it's minced it's indistinguishable, and that since everyone offers Wagyu burgers but are mostly lies.

    • Yep I would agree, once it's minced it would be indistinguishable. As wagyu is prized for its fat marbling which gives a high fat distribution between the intramuscular meat making it juicer with each bite. Once you mince it, the fat is redistributed by the mincer therefore you can simply add more fat offcuts to the mincer if you want it fattier/juicier.

      • +1

in that sense why would anyone waste real Wagyu for mince? When the cheapest fatty cuts will do.

        • Indeed

  • $12 for a burger, still not my cup of tea

    • +2

      mcdonald's not far behind nowadays…

      • Very true, but then again I always pick hj over mcd for burger

  • +1
