    "Site wide" OR "Exclusions apply"?

    • I know, I always get notifications from OZB for brands or products that are listed in the post as exclusions, fml ;(

      • The email from SCA does NOT mention "site wide".

        • +1

from their FB advertisement "20% OFF (almost) EVERYTHING" - its pretty much site wide with the usual exclusions

  • Got a white car, paint is dull. Is there a cheap nice polish, may want to buy something easier to apply (ie with vacuum help). Any recommendations? Thanks

    • +8

      What is vacuum help

    • +1

Depending on how nice the car is, you would probably be okay with something like NuFinish. It does an okay job, and will last about 6 months outside if you apply the second coat after 28 days like the bottle says.

There are far better products out there if you have a better car, and want a deeper shine/are happy to put in more effort etc. But from the limited information you provided, I thought I would make a suggestion

    • Maybe try drying with Bowden Own "After Glow" & then use "Lazy Wax" if needed.

  • +1

Any suggestions on what to buy for a shit old car

    • +4

Nothing, at the end of the day its a shit old car depreciating asset.

"I am an investment banker who wants to buy a merc on my grad pay" - ozbargin most legendary post

      • Haha, agreed. Not worth spending anymore money on shit old car.

    • +1

Put loud fake sports exhaust on it and paint your car red to make it go faster.

Check for any leaks. A leak stop additive might go a long way as a cheap fix.

Cover the BMW badge, and then it will just be old.

    • Cheap Sony CarPlay headunit?
Cool LED interior lights that change colour?
      Roof racks?
      Dual battery system?

    • I mean if it's your main mode of travel and you intend to keep it in the coming years some essential DIY maintenance would pay for itself. You'll reduce your odds of critical failure which means you don't have to spend money on a new car, and can potentially resell the shitbox for more than what wreckers will give you.

If it's an auto then do a drain-and-fill of the transmission fluid and put aside 0.5-1.0L of said new fluid to use to replace the power steering fluid (if it uses any). Those are probably the two most common points of failure on an older vehicle. A drain-and-fill is virtually risk free and very easy to do yourself, follow youtube guides.

Throttle Body & Carb cleaner, use it to clean either of those as well as your MAF sensor if your car has one. Plus a cheap air filter, all together that'll restore some fuel efficiency.

Might be cheaper to get all these things off Sparebox ebay when they're 10-30% off and stack with the monthly 15-22% ebay vouchers that come through.

      • Let's check if username checks out.

Can you do a similar write-up for motorcycles? 😅

I just took my 11 year old bikes tank off for the first time and removed my first coil pack. Have to dig through my 2 giant 100+L boxes of unopened OzBargain tools in the morning for some socket bits or if I remember, I have one of those T-type wrenchs but probably not in the right size.. 😪

Back on topic though, I was wondering what other maintenance I should do while I'm under the tank. Air filter? Spark and coil packs? TIA. <3

Look for a good suitable engine oil deal if you can find. I found one but still not really a deal after 20% off.

  • See at the bottom of the email it also says $5 credit back for every $100 spent.
Does that make it 25% off for members?

    • +1

The $5 credit is applied to your account after you spend a total of $100 (not necessarily in one transaction), so no

  • Just spent $3xx for a car battery last wkn :(

    • +2

If you're a member, should receive price difference in credit. (I believe)

      • +1

maybe not: "Best Price Credit will not be generated for previous purchases."

      • +2

No credit back on recent purchases because this isn’t a sale on the item it’s a coupon code (tricky Supercheap).

  • Hodl until Black Friday

    • Genuinely curious. Would stuff like batteries be cheaper on BF or would it be like most sale nowadays where they give you an inflated rrp to give impression of a high discount? Never had to buy car parts until now, but looking at buying an active start/stop battery to replace the one in mine. I would imagine this sale is pretty fire given such a limited time thing? Unlike BF deals of nowadays (again, at least given how its elsewhere, not sure about car parts), where it goes on for days and the actual good discount is hard to come by.

      • +1

make sure you are buying the right start/stop tech. there are EFB and AGM batteries, AGM can replace EFB but not the other way around - and EFB are cheaper so don't get upsold on an AGM when you don't need it

        • Thanks heaps for the headsup. There was only one model with S&S model that fit my car in the store next to me, so I went with that.

Until they said they dont actually fit these despite what the website said so thats that.

Will probably just go through nrma. Cheaper than dealership at least.

          • @Brrrrt: one other thing, depending on what kind of vehicle you have it may need to have a battery reset performed via the OBD2 port so your car knows there's a new battery in it, otherwise the alternator will overcharge it (that's likely why Supercheap wouldn't fit it for you)

            • @Aldonis: That's probably what was going on. It is a 2016 Tiguan and a look online said going through the dealship will cost me probably double of a batteries worth :( yikes

  • +1

Has anyone price matched and then applied the discount?

    • I would like to know as well

    • +6

I price matched some batteries, both price match code and 20% code worked!! $878 worth of batteries for $436.80. then 10% gift cards takes it under $400. Not badddd

  • Can anyone recommend a portable solar panel kit to match with this?

Or if they have any other suggestions for portable power stations - For a small campervan.

  • Thanks OP just in time for a pair of Windshield wipers.

  • site not loading, OZB'd….?

  • They also have 20% back in credit for dewalt and kincrome power tools, batteries and chargers until 13/11/2024. You need to go to my profile home page and activate the offer.

I was about to buy a quad lock case for the new iPhone tomorrow
    And saved 10

  • +1

After hours sales trick so we can't ask for price match

    • Price match with Supercheap is via a code so wouldn't stack anyway though

      • +1

I just used price match code plus Save20 and it worked. I will cancel my morning order. The price match code works until midnight.

        • Oh interesting. That's cheese. Noted for future reference. Thanks mate

  • +1

20% off should be their normal selling price. It's just a standard run of the Mil non event. They occasionally have 30%-40% off certain departmental range like Batteries, Car Wash, Towing etc.

    • +1

Agree, I got excited with 20% off and with 15% gift cards from earlier, but prices are still not as cheap as Automotive Superstore (servicing kit, filters etc, for a VW Golf)

  • -1

Stack it with TCB 9% tonight.

  • Bought a motorbike battery at 20% discount.

    SubTotal $136.99
    Discount - $27.40
    Shipping Cost $0.00
    Order Total $109.59

Post placing order, googled for the product and found there are many other retailers offering as low as $90 for the battery. Now considering cancelling.

Should I cancel the order and price match? Do they process refunds if I wish to cancel and purchase the same with price beat?

    • Doubt you can price match now as no one will be in attendance to process the special code.

  • It's still going for another 50 minutes, 11:59PM non-daylight savings time.

  • Any air compressor deals? Waiting for this deal to be back.
