    New Battery

    Genuine Dell battery?

What do you expect for $20 extra? A no-name battery will cost $60 on eBay and then you still need to install it yourself.

I think the 16gb with new battery would suffice for everyday non-demanding use cases for a good couple of years.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect to know what you’re buying.

I personally wouldn’t want a laptop running some cheap no name battery in my house.

You did not answer the question of what did you expect? If you do not like the answer neg the deal, not my comment.

is 'excellent' really the best word to describe a battery at 70% capacity?

acceptable, maybe? it's definitely a compromise.

If you are Monty Burns, then yes!

I would be more worried about “Has some acratches on the screen”. :/

      Um, define some.

I've got a screen at work with 2 scratches. So annoying. Personally would rather take that 70% battery at this price point than a scratched screen!

any options for i7 32GB 512SSD with new battery ?

Have a 5y old laptop with i7-8565U and 16GB RAM which struggles a bit with windows 11 (even after clean install). Fine for booking flights and home admin but wouldn't recommend the laptop in this deal for daily work use based on specs.

As someone who supported a fleet of these devices (exact model), the keyboards aren't very good and will die on you randomly. Ive warrantied a shit ton of them for keyboard issues, just a FYI. Otherwise they aren't too bad a device.

    • Yeah need 1 year warranty

    • Hopefully the keyboards have been replaced during warranty with ones that don't fail then.

  • Work has issued a whole swag of these refurbs (no idea where from). Weighs a tonne, the USBc ports can’t even charge an iPad Pro, the keyboard and trackpad are crap, and the battery lasts five minutes.

Mind you, my personal machine is an MBA, and at my previous workplace I had a HP Dragonfly.

Most deals from Metrocom are pretty meh. It's almost like they try to get rid of junk by saying some marketing stuff. I would stay away

  • I'm chasing something like this for my elderly father, but in 15.4 inch. Anything around?

    • I just had this Dell Precision one delivered today from bufferstock and it's would be more than capable, has a very robust frame and the larger screen.

      • Way better than a latitude.

      • Can you make a small review on how the laptop looks like and how the battery seem to perform?

  • Hi @MetroCom what’s your return policy? I understand this is used/ refurbished laptop but I’m expecting within an acceptable condition (no obvious dead pixel, big scratches on screen, crack on body).
I’m planning to purchase this laptop for my son. Anyone has experienced with Metrcom? Thank you
