  • Thanks bud, ordered 4. 👍

  • Wash with this OK after Turtle Wax hybrid ceramic spray coating?

    • Applying ceramic then wax is ok, applying wax then ceramic is not.

      • Thanks, I applied two coats ceramic, I will try this from Woollies.

While you can, I would not recommend wax on top of a ceramic either. Why would anyone want to change the hydrophobic behavior of their ceramic coating. Defeats one of the main reasons to go ceramic.

        • I agree, but it won't really damage it either. It could marginally extend the life of the cermaic coating, I guess.

          • @Charmoffensive: Agree with both comments. Personal choice. This is pH neutral and likely has very little wax but it seems more logical to use a ceramic wash and wax to maximise the original sealant's high hydrophobicity. Big cost difference though.

Try it on half the bonnet and compare no wash (a water rinse) with this. If you're not happy ditch it (gift it).

            • @Igaf: I've never really liked ceramic wash and wax. You need to use a lot of (expensive) wash, to get much of a top-up effect, and it's almost impossible to achieve this dilution ratio with any kind of foam cannon or pressure washer.

What works better is a standard, no-wax, pH-neutral car wash, then a spray-on ceramic "wet wax" (I just use the Turtle Wax one). The ceramic wet "wax" acts as a drying agent, so it actually makes the job easier, and it provides a much better top-up than if the ceramic coating was mixed in with the wash. Plus, you only need to do a spray or two per panel, so the bottle, while expensive, lasts ages.

              • @axyh: If I had a professional ceramic coating that's probably what I would do too, but I don't live in an environment where my vehicle is regularly exposed to salt, bird/insects, gritty rain or dust storms etc) .

It depends on how diligent the prep and application was, and ultimately how fastidious you are about your vehicle, but I doubt spray on ceramic sealant will show a significant negative effect after using a good wash and wax, esp one with synthetic "wax".

Unless you're washing every few days (??!!) the wash cost is not a big factor.

    Is this a good price?

    • +1

It's very cheap per wash if that's your main concern.

    • Yup - $6.25/L is a good price. Woolies would drop it to this range occasionally.

      • Woolies have this week, thats why it is on special at Amazon
