[Quest] Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord - $7.52 (Was $46.99, 84% Off) @ Meta Store

Another decent % off - Ghostbusters : Rise of the Ghost Lord - Frozen Empire.

Possibly a great (relatively cheap) option when not enjoying Batman.

Some other recent codes available on this deal, but certainly many would now be expired:

Another code 89% off "Vail" (trust it's a legit code, they're dangerous!), I've put some time in it, it's decent, but multiplayer lobbies are difficult to find, and there's latency issues… benefit of being in Australia!

Unless there's only one toilet and both of you need to go

    Never cross swords

    • It's streams, not swords.

      • Penis joke

Exactly, not sure why all the neg.

  • Does anyone know of a simple guide for getting local multiplayer working when sideloading apps on a couple of Quest 2's? I've always struggled to get that working despite much Reddit reading.

  • Ghostbusters code is not working for me. Anyone else having success?

      Worked for me

Make sure you add it at the payment screen. And even when you think it's added still click the Apply button because meta are dodgy hoping you complete purchase without applying properly.

Do not use the redeem a code screen, that's the wrong screen. That's for gifted apps

Make sure you're in the right app. You want frozen empire. I found the title of this thread ambiguous

      • Unfortunately title character limit, I couldn't include the complete title, and pricing! Link should be to the correct app however; enjoy!

    • It worked 1 minute ago.

  • Thanks for confirming guys. Your right it is working. My problem was the ozbargain app I'm using wasn't displaying the last 6 digits of the code

Vail is awful for Australians. 200 ms ping. It's like playing CS in PowerPoint 95

    • Wordart

    • Agreed - that's if you can find a game; difficult to lead a high K-D. Australians often are getting the raw end of the deal for competitive gun games on Meta.
I'm avoiding those at full price. Contractors Showdown another example I was keen on, but (at least in the early days) very unplayable due to all servers being overseas.
The genre needs to have solid single player modes. Zero Calibre 2 was fun. Enjoying Arizona Sunshine Remake currently as well!

    • I've had fun a few times when I could get games, but most of the time I have sat in matchmaking on my own :(

      • no problem finding games for me. but impossible to play with lag spikes of 2-3 seconds regularly and massive delay

    • Damn I just bought it

      • Eh still fun enough to play around in

      • Meta have allow refunds provided you don't exceed 2 hours playtime… or used to. I've refunded a few games to date.

Thanks Oipjo for the heads-up! I'm a big fan but don't want to shell out $50 for a so-so game… $7.52 sounds about right for a licensed game.

… or any Quest game for that matter.

Code for Vail worked - $5.17.
Thanks! My Quest library is starting to pile up like my Steam library, full of games I probably won't play.

My daughter already has quest 3 from last year so would this be a good purchase for her.
Son is getting quest 3 at Xmas but it’s in box and not set up yet obviously it’s Xmas gift.
And I’m treating myself to a quest 3 as well again I’m not using it as gift from wife to me and will be used from then.
Is it possible to get this game without having the quest 3 set up?

    • Yes you just need your quest account set up and buy it on the Meta Horizon phone app.

      • I don’t want to set up headsets until Xmas and i believe you can do a referral when setting up headset and get credit to your account so myself and son will gain this

So if I set up quest account I will miss on this and I’m sure needs to be set up on machine.
Can I just go to app and buy or are you saying to buy these games I need to set up account on app which is different to setting up the headset please confirm

        • +1

You can buy via the app or website without setting up a headset.

        • +2

No you can create an account any time, that doesn't affect getting referral credits and activating headsets. Activating the headset should actually be the last thing you do. You can set up an account either through the meta.com website or the meta horizon app.

Once you have a meta account you can buy games, you don't need a headset to buy games.

Sometimes you do get a message saying "you don't have a headset setup" but you can just bypass the message.

          So the steps are:

1 - Create a Meta account (any time)

          2 - Buy a headset

3 - If you want, buy games (any time). There are also game referrals that reduce games by 15%. But they don't stack with sale or promo code discounts.

4 - Accept a headset referral for $47 game credit. If you create meta accounts for multiple family members you can refer each other and gain more credit.

5 - Activate the headset. This means turning on the headset and linking it to a meta account.

          • @pixxelpusher: Is this ghostbusters game still on offer it’s showing full price for me and is asking for a pin I am worried it charges me full price

            • +1

@bwatt72: It worked for me about 10 minutes ago. On the game "Confirm purchase" screen did you paste the full promo code in the box and click the "Apply" button? It will then show the discounted price which is $7.52.

Yes you need to setup a 4 digit pin code to purchase with.

              • @pixxelpusher: I not confirm but ask for pin when you do that are you buying it or go to futher screens

              • @pixxelpusher: I not seen an option to add code yet maybe I enter pin then add these?

              • @pixxelpusher: I believe my Facebook or in store purchase would already have a pin or maybe it does not I just not went past this part as I don’t know if it will charge me when I do full price

              • @pixxelpusher: It’s ok I just had not went far enough in the process of setting it up.

          • @pixxelpusher: Or do you go through the motions of checking out adding code later I don’t want to add my pin and payment is taken in full right away

            • +1

@bwatt72: Anymore questions and you’re going to have to put @pixxelpusher on the payroll.

              • @Juddwah: It’s all good it’s been a while since I purchased from meta and thought next screen was it being paid but it was not now that I know.

  • I'm new to the Meta world but looking at getting a couple of Quest headsets for the kids for christmas. I think I have a stupid question, though. If you buy a game and play multiplayer, does each player need to buy the game, or can multiple people play off the one purchase?

    • +2

Currently a lot of games support family sharing which will allow two quest devices to play a purchased game from 1 library. The way this works is that each quest devices has a primary account/owner and you can add secondary accounts to the device for other family members to be able to use it. The primary account can enable a setting that allows secondary accounts on that device to access the primary accounts game library (library sharing). Only one quest device can have this enabled though. So to play with both people at the same time a secondary account on the shared device would need to launch the game and then the actual game owner would launch it from their account on another quest headset that is not shared….if that kind of makes sense.

      • Wish I knew this as just purchased x3 of ghostbusters for Xmas time so son can play I can play and daughter can play now if she wants.
Probably could have saved myself money but not to work mine and son was just under $15 for both of us and daughter still had credit in her account so was free.

  • Cheers OP! 🍻
