  • Golf+ code doesn’t work for me

    • Updated!
Thanks! Will strikeout the expired ones as we go! 🙂

  • AAA is a stretch. $22 is probably what it's worth.

    • is it just 'shoot bad guys', move to next stage?

      • Yeah pretty much. The gunplay is pretty good but it's a bit janky sometimes. No huge advancements over the first one

        • shame. superhot is the only vr game that really got my interest so far

  • Hey guys, whoever owns Oculus VR, are you able to
play games like cricket? If yes how realistic is the feel?

    • Some people say Golf on VR is the best ever, but to me if doesn't feel all that natural (I'm pretty tall, there's adjustments you can make, accessories etc) but I'd have to disagree on Golf (Walkabout Minigolf is however a really fun game, but it's more social and fun than competitive).
Eleven Table Tennis is exceptional, feels super immersive and work up a good sweat.
There's a lot of sports genres, cricket is on there no doubt - plenty of hit the ball sort of adaptations and games.
For someone who hasn't been in VR for a long time, or ever, it's definitely come a long way.

Graphics are generally the biggest downfall - and picking up objects off the floor can sometimes still be buggy in the best of games. Several games are still considered to be more like experiences rather than games (so easy to complete and never replay them), but the Tech is pretty good!

I found a lot of interest in painting of all things, I have no to little desire in real life; but can sink a lot of time painting in VR.

    • IBcricket is an excellent game and feels good if you use a controller holder that gives you that handle of a cricket bat/golf club feel. Genuinely requires footwork to play your shots on harder difficulties and less "bat shield" widening your bat.

Hardest part is you haven't got legs so if you inside edge you tend to chop it on the stumps a lot and bowlers coming around the wicket can basically shape the ball to come through your legs which is all kinds of unnatural to play at so it's easier to take guard on leg stump for them.

      • Thanks @Oipjo and @Beetleeater for your responses. Seems like verdict is that Table Tennis is fun. Will try to see if Tennis is available as well. With cricket, you can overcome constraint of the game to still have enjoyable experience.

        • Ibcricket is heaps of fun, constraints just change your batting style against certain bowlers, it adds a different challenge to normal cricket outside but definitely doesn't take away from the enjoyment. Between that, eleven table tennis, walkabout mini golf, les mills body combat, pistol whip are all amazing active games, I have hundreds of hours sunk into these. More than justifies the price of a q3 on their own if you don't like adventure games or shooters (though hl alyx and walking dead are great if you do!)

  • I wanted table tennis

Eleven Table Tennis is a really good one, but have only seen it in the monthly sales, no codes unfortunately.

      • +2

        Eleven Table Tennis

It's so good that you can just play as though you have a real bat in your hand. I accidentally went to lean on the (virtual) table between rounds and fell over when it wasn't actually there - it's pretty realistic.

        • Do you guys have that game? Are you guys able to refer me? Says you can get % off with referral

          • @Angelscrap: I'd give you my link direct but in the interest of ozbargain fairness there was a randomised 25% off referral list for all games on here.

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/referral/oculus

It is 404ing for me at the moment though so maybe taken down

            • @Beetleeater: Meta made referrals more difficult recently. You have to be friends in Meta for a link to work now.

I read in the referral request thread somewhere that caused ozb to decide to get rid of the referral page.

              • @toniyellow: It's basically reverted back to how it used to work now - originally you had to be friends with someone on Facebook before they could send you an invite (this was before the Facebook/Meta account split)

At the time, OzBargain was set up so that clicking the referral button would prepare a DM session between you and your randomly assigned referrer. I made about $500 in credit by being one of the few people willing to jump through those hoops.

              • @toniyellow: That's really annoying but doesn't surprise me that meta would introduce some more hoops, I made a couple games worth of credit from being early and getting a few games on that list

        • Even better than you get a paddle attachment to put your controller in.

  • Dragonfist coupon is not working

  • Thanks, I've been eyeing crazy kung fu for a while. Where are these deals published?

    • +1

      Right here on OzB!
Compiled this over the past few months over various VR discords where developers have released the keys, some are from in-game Easter Eggs; as well as Reddit, Facebook groups, and some comments from previous deals :)

        Wow, thanks the hard work!
