I got it for $560 ish after $100 tradein and $100 amex cashback. However i find that my Hisense R7 had better blacks
Also glad i sold my replacement 65" Hisense U7NAU (got a faulty one from fb marketplace for free and hisense agreed to replace it) for $1300 2 weeks ago
Yeah unfortunately I don't have Amex to have taken a further $100 off the price and Samsung have reduced the trade in offer to only $50 now.
I had a few that i didnt use. If i knew would have helped you out lol
I'd give a plus one, but out of principle, I refuse to shop at Harvey as they "stole" over $20 million dollars during Covid. Added to which often these gift cards give you only one month or so to use it. I looked for a while trying to find the T&Cs for the GC, but couldn't find any.
In hindsight, as well as foresight for many, if you are going to complain about actions taken by governments, corporates, experts, academia and progressive groups during COVID, I would put HN pretty much at the bottom of the list.
The authorities pretty much trashed the economy, supply chains and lead to an attitude of entitlement by a large section of the population.
attitude of entitlement by a large section of the population
The entitlement of not getting sick and dying?
tbf, risk varies considerably with age. In hindsight it was a tad over the top.
"They" as in Gerry, the man who made consumers pay GST on small OS purchases, something which is being rorted by some sellers who overcharge or actually are too small to be required to collect GST? His franchisees were entitled to Frydenberg's unencumbered covid welfare like other businesses but like quite a few others whose profits actually increased during covid Gerry's share of the handout didn't pass public muster. He was publicly shamed - unlike others, and eventually gave "his share" ($6M) of the welfare back.
A year ago when I got my TCL, Hisense TVs all seemed to have a 1 year warranty but I can see this one has 3. The TCL had 3 which was a major selling point for me vs the competing Hisense.
Pleased to see non-throwaway society moves like this, keep it up!
Don’t regret the TCL. It runs android. These Hisense run VIDAA, and I will not buy another Hisense because of it. Just waiting for it to die so I can get something else.
Oh nah I love the TCL. Was just never going to pay the same price for something else with a 1 year warranty when the TCL had 3, but good Hisense seems to have come to the party.
I also have a ~5y.o. Hisense with VIDAA and yeah, the OS sucks. I basically factory reset it, said DISAGREE to the init prompts which turns it into a 'dumb' tv effectively. Much snappier like that, and use a CCWGTV for any streaming apps.
Yeah did the same and hooked up an Apple TV and use its OS.
I have this in my basket ready to pull the trigger anything else better I can find for 800? As I had an $88 giftcard…..
I managed to pay $700 for this TV yesterday. I asked JB to price match and then used the JB Perks 20% off code. It's a pretty impressive TV for that price. I use an AppleTV so the home menu system doesn't really worry me (as long as it's fast, and it is on this TV).
Well played 😁
Quite happy with my Samsung 55 Q70C for $670 from the EPP store from a few months ago.
