How would this go for photo editing?

    • +5

i reckon it would be great for photos if you were doing vids i would've said get and ultrawide. but after researching ill be getting a 42-48 for my cad work.

      • Cheers 🥂

      • Have the previous version in 48 and love it.
Only minor gripe is auto dimming but this can be turned off with the service remote( buyer beware)
I do wish it was 8k
But gaming and productivity is a beast on this.
Use 2x 4K 32 inch at work and it’s a toss up as to which I prefer!

Why buyer beware? Because you risk bricking the TV if you press the wrong buttons?

          • @fufufu: They can tell you had service menu on during warranty eval and deny warranty because of it.

It's not for a living room or main tv. It's a monitor/bedroom tv

Not bad but picked up mine from JB last month for $1164. That was the time to pull the trigger

I have a 42 C2, using it as a PC monitor - it's the single best tech purchase I have ever made, I paid a little bit less than this, but this is a C4 so I think it's probably worth it if you've been holding out to get it for a bit less.

Oh and trust me as a monitor, it is plenty bright enough. Games in HDR have blown me away, I basically couldn't believe how good it was and what I've been missing not having it.

    • what precautions have you taken for burn in?

      • +1

On Firefox I have set the browser to pure black. My taskbar auto-hides and I run translucent 'TB' (taskbar) to avoid having a line there. I also run the lively wallpaper app.

Otherwise not much, a black mouse cursor, lively also has a screensaver that kicks in. I have turned off windows snapping or I had to avoid lines appearing in the middle of the screen, and when I have two windows I drag the screen to be more 60:40 one way or the other.

For settings I'm using game optimiser so I can get 4K @120, otherwise power saving is off, and I'm using Windows 11 HDR so the screen goes into HDR mode. Nothing really there to lower brightness, or anything like that.

Burn in shouldn't really be a concern on these newer OLEDs, if I get 5-6 years from mine that's great, I'd keep it for 10 if it lasts that long, don't see any need to get anything larger or faster (refresh).

100% this. I got one for WFH and then got another for my partner doing her MBA. Found a really good monitor mount and have both on a standing desk!
