Lowest price I've seen for a 2TB SSD rated for 7000mbps+ - besides the ridiculous name, the drive seems to have great reviews everywhere I've checked. Can't go wrong at that price either.

Same-day delivery (for Prime members) is an added benefit.

    price in title please :)

Feel like a Fokwit for not waiting to get my Fikwot.
But can't have too many m.2 drives hmmm

    • +1

      Fikwot is the new Fokwit!

  • +12

Fik! Wot happened to my data!

  • +1

    HODL you Fokwits.

  • +2

    I finknot

  • +3

How the fik do they do these prices?

Anyone know wot the warranty is?

    • +1

      😂😂😂

    • -2

Because they use ymtc 3D tlc nand, which is cheaper and better than samsung and crucial.

  • +4

I would rather consider something like this. It's not as fast but is from a reputable brand that has decent reviews to back it up, and only $155.

    • That has no DRAM

      • A DRAM DRAMA

    • QLC SSD, NO DRAM, with Endurance (TBW) of only 440TB, and more expensive…not a good choice

      • swings and roundabouts

the above drive would be fine for a PS5 given that if you lose data then you can just download it again

but yeah… not sure about using it for crucial data

      • +2

How many people are likely to hit such endurance write limits in the drives lifetime

  • +4

    hmmmm….is this a genuine Fikwot?

  • Does it have DRAM? Is this good for main Windows drive

    • +1

It doesn't have DRAM, but makes use of HMB. But should be absolutely fine for a Windows drive, I got one for the same purpose.

      • is DRAM necessary these days for windows drive or is it just a gimmick?

        • For long sustained write operations, an NVMe SSD with built-in DRAM will always perform better and be more consistent. But if you are only using the SSD as an OS drive, or a game drive, or you only do light video or photo editing, then you probably would not be able to tell the difference. Most DRAM-less NVMe drives now support HMB (Host Memory Buffer) technology which uses a portion of system memory as its DRAM. So technically it is not DRAM-less, it just borrows system memory just like an iGPU.

The boot SSD is often the drive with the most amount of reads and writes and it determines how "snappy" your PC feels on the desktop. Also an SSD with DRAM is not necessarily the best choice for a boot drive.

    • MAP1602 + (likely) 232L YMTC TLC. Good enough for main drive. Just bought one to upgrade my PC.

YMTC NAND should be avoided, I have had a 20% failure rate within 1 year. Yes performance is great but the failures really make it not worth the risk unless you have a RAID1 or the data is completely unimportant (e.g. scratch drive)

The controllers also tend to be poorly implemented… bare minimum this is a silly dice roll, but effectively it's a scam.

    • I had three SSDs with YMTC NAND (TiPlus7100, TiPro7000 and Ti600) in the past 2 years. They all working properly up to now. If you did encounter 20% failure rate, you should contact the warranty team.

      • +2

The warranty team dodges consumers, and then after the issues pile up, suddenly there's a new brand…

      • I have. I purchased my drives in late 2023, whether YMTC NAND remains to be unreliable in the future it yet to be seen, but we will see with time if reliability improves or not.

    • +2

yes - this - only a fikwot would trust a…fikwot?

  • +2

    Wot the Fik?

    • 😂😂😂

  • Anyone used these Fokwit NVMe drives long term yet?

    • +1

Ask the Fukwits who bought them.
