eGift Card Refund - Ticketmaster

I was trying to save a few dollars by buying a Ticketmaster gift card for a musical. The musical was rescheduled with no announcement of any future dates. I ask Ticketmaster to give me a refund. They said they will reissue a new eGift card and to keep checking my emails for it. 15 days later, I still haven’t received my new eGift card. I already followed up twice and they kept telling me to wait. Has anyone been in similar situation when the reissue of a gift card took a long time? I am getting very impatient and frustrated as it was a big amount as I helped my friends to buy their tickets too.

I already contacted the original provider where I bought the gift cards but they can’t help me because I already clicked on the link to activate the Ticketmaster eGift card. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do? Thank you.

    • Thanks a lot! I didn’t realise there was a similar post on this issue yesterday!

It usually takes around 9 months after you got screwed based on the previous post.

        • Wow! It is a long wait. :( So disappointing! No musical and money is being stuck with them.

There is a similar tale of woe almost daily from people trying to save 18c using a gif card.

        • I was going to tag you in but didn't want to interrupt you on your sick day.

@MS Paint: Doctor says I need to refrain from looking at gift card threads, but I told him that's not possible, so I'm just on extreme blood pressure meds now.

    • That makes sense cheers.

Just a note: the link is about Ticketek and your post is about Ticketmaster - but the whole ticketing industry is a bit of a joke.

    Typical steps for dodgy companies:

    • Complain on Social Media
    • Email the exec team
    • Complain to your state's regulatory body (eg: Fair Trading)

Should have used a credit card. Then you could have done a charge back. If you try to save 10 cents, then you have to deal with Ticketbastard.

    • I wish I did! I am trying a chargeback for the original transaction but I am doubtful I can succeed.
