Ticketek Voucher Issue/Warning

Warning regarding Ticketek Voucher purchases, if there’s a problem redeeming it you can be waiting months without resolution.

I purchased a $300 ticketek voucher in mid Jan from ShopBack. I successfully used it for a partial redemption with a balance of $247.20 remaining. I attempted to use the full remaining balance to purchase a Taylor Swift ticket in February and the full balance was redeemed however no ticket was issued after a website error.

I attempting to resolve this with Ticketek for months before they referred me to the place of purchase (ShopBack).

I was in touch with ShopBack on the 6th of August and they got back to me on the 19th of August with a replacement gift card code of $61.60 with the merchant stating this had already been resolved with that balance all that was remaining.

This is inaccurate and I advised ShopBack as such, they stated they will get back in touch with Ticketek.

Since then I have no heard further other than “we have submitted your request to our partner but have yet to receive a status update. As such, please allow us more time for the investigation process.”

Definitely would advise against purchasing Gift Vouchers for Ticketek with their customer support standards when things go wrong. Disappointed ShopBack have not been able to resolve the issue in a reasonable timeframe either.

Buying vouchers just isn't worth the hassle & risks anymore. Let alone through third-party cashback schemes.

The Cashback isn’t the issue, I’ve never had a problem with ShopBack and their tracking systems when purchasing vouchers. Since you’re purchasing through them it tracks reliably.

Issue is mostly with Ticketek’s customer service and ShopBack’s reliance on them to rectify the issue.

What makes you think sharing my experience means I don’t have it together…

@JordanM: I'm telling Brendan to keep his shit together. When he reads this thread he is going to go off his nut and probably chuck a sickie tomorrow as a consequence.

          • @JordanM: I have used vouchers to book for shows via Ticketek about a dozen times now. Never had an issue, you just got very unlucky with it..

            Ignore these lot.

@Gervais fanboy: Yes as have I.

Didn't consider the system would debit a voucher without issuing a ticket but I know for the future not to use them in conjunction with a high demand event.

Jesus christ, Ticketek is known to be shit at the best of times, then couple it with the website overload of Taylor Swift tickets, and the pièce de résistance of attempting to pay with a gift card. It's like people want issues sometimes.

I've already told the boss I won't be in tomorrow, I have to go to the doctor for a blood pressure checkup.

  • Charge back and stop using Shopback. You could also try DMing the rep - @gotyourback

A ShopBack Customer Experience Advocate has been in touch, and offered a new voucher code to makeup the difference.

Will update when it’s been provided.

    • Provided a few days later, successfully used a few days later.
