[QLD] OzBargain 18th Birthday - Mount Gravatt Meetup (4pm on 2 November 2024) at Mt Gravatt Street Food

Hello OzBargainers of Brisbane!

This is an event to celebrate OzBargain's 18th anniversary.

The idea is for people to buy their own dinner and send the receipts to scotty. Total cost of food and non-alcoholic drinks will only be reimbursed for strictly $45pp max. Anything over this limit will be out of your own pocket.

IMPORTANT: RSVP's close by 10AM AEST 2 NOV 2024 as I will be sending messages to those RSVP'd then to confirm time and meeting details.

Note: There is a $3 entry fee on the night which can fall under the $45 cap for reimbursement. We are not able to sponsor alcoholic drinks in these meetup events. Some people might want to consume alcohol at meetup events, and that can be done at their own expense.

There is no cap on people able to attend as this is a large outdoor space with lots of food trucks/stalls at Mt Gravatt Street Food. Please RSVP so we have an idea of numbers for reserving table space.

Attending events

You can attend at most two events that you are not organising. We did have that clause last year but we still have quite a few people attending 5+ events, so we will be putting a hard cap this year, i.e. you won't even be able to click on "Yes I am attending" if you are already registered for 2 events.

OzBargain meetups are strictly users only this year. In the past there were some leniency for partners, children or other family members that don't have OzBargain accounts. However for this year we decided that one must have an OzBargain account to be part of the meetup.

We won't allow "new accounts" from participating in meetups either. In the last couple of years we had accounts created just to have free meals at OzBargain meetups, and then never logged in again.

Comments

  • How is the seating there these days?
I haven’t been since they had the Marketta on Saturday (?) nights, so prob pre 2017, and the seating was terrible lol

    • Seating's fine and availability does fluctuate depending on the crowds. That's why I set the event for that earlier start time so we can hopefully avoid the busier time of night, get seats more easily, and grab our food without too much of a wait time.

  • It's a very busy Birthday year in Brissie!
    Have fun🎉
Am at my Ozbargain limit. Already attending 2 other events!

  • +1

Havent been there before. Is there a $3 entry fee ?

    • Yeap, you can send that off to scotty for reimbursement under the $45pp cap.

  • Re: we won't allow "new accounts" - how new is too new? Been a very regular lurker for over 15 yrs and only just joined recently. Cheers.

    • Member Since 22/10/2024
      Probably too recent…
But Register & see if accepted!

    • Hi Pilgrim7, great question! Unfortunately, I do have to agree with INFIDEL; member since 22/10/2024 is definitely too new haha.

      • Fair enough. Thanks!

        • "If they can click on Register to register for the event, their account is not new. Basically we are just preventing people creating accounts just to come to the meetups." -Scotty

  • Will there be OZB T-shirts for this event?

    • Unfortunately, shirts are severely delayed and we won't have them by this Saturday :(
