          If you prefer comfortability over portability then bigger is better.

          Personally I cycle between TrimUI Smart Pro, Miyoo Mini Plus and the Anbernic RG35XX H.

      That one would work but a few Ozb users told me that it failed on them after not very long.

          Plug the SD card into a computer. Find the file. Make a copy.

          Get a new SD Card.

          Setup the new SD Card with ArkOS (someone posted a guide above).

          Copy save to the new SD Card.

      In summary, you can download apps to emulate various consoles and can use a frontend/launcher to turn the phone into a dedicated retro gaming device.

        So it's a highly regarded mod of Pokemon. Has tons of features, is actually challenging, massive map and original story. Normally you'd download Pokemon Fire Red and patch the mod onto it.

    The R36S itself is a clone, but there are clones of the R36S which have different RAM and screen - end result is the clones run worse (prob due to slower RAM? no idea) than the R36S does. Only real way to know is once you have it try to look through the translucent plastic behind the screen and you should hopefully see two RAM chips. If you only see one, then you most likely have the slower clone.

    Also eject the SD card and connect it to a PC, then you can upload one of the main files (ending in DTB) to a website to check which screen you have.     The different screens make a different for support for updating the Operating system and having the newest version of the retroarch emulator on it (bundled as a pack named ArkOS). Unfortunately it's a buy it and wait and see - there is a thread in the R36S reddit where people report the aliexpress ''stores'' that seem to have the ''genuine'' R36S stock, and which ones are advertising R36S but are actually the single ram chip clones or worse the K36S

    Can you not get these games easy enough for Nvidia shield / fire stick etc? Never tried the emulator thing yet, but yea I get you lose the mobility in this especially if you do FIFO etc

      Depends where you play these games? Yes you could emulate them on a variety of devices including TV's, but I use my Emulation handhelds on the train, and the compact size of these and ability to have it always available makes it worthwhile.

    Bought the 128GB one a few weeks ago (Only ones left at the time). They're pretty good!
    Just some settings instructions when you want to search for games in any platform emulation or just "all games":

    At the menu (for anyone not understanding) Step 1 - Select “Start” Step 2 - Select “Game Collection Settings” Step 3 - Select “Automatic Game Collection” Step 4 - Select only “All Games” (“Favorites” should be enabled so disable it). Step 5 - Go back (By selecting B) until you reached the game systems. Step 6 - Ensure your search button works by pressing Y

    I hope that is useful :-)

    Bought this one. It loads fast and it has a lot of games! Screen quality is good too. My only gripe is the ergonomics of the buttons. Your fingers hurt afterwards as they haven't really put a lot of thought into ergonomics.

    also don't forget that this thing can emulate other computers and consoles which don't have games included on the default SD card included with the R36S. source your own roms or disk images and you can also emulate Amiga 500, C64, ZX Spectrum, Atari 400, Apple II etc.
    check out this video (not my channel, no affiliation) to see how well it performs and he has other R36S related videos with other emulators being tested, how to connect the R36S to your phone for wifi update etc.
