Lunch sorted for the next 3 days. Cheers Neil.

  • How do you order and pay $5 online or do you need to pay in store

    • You can either order via online or in person.
      https://etto.bopple.app/

      • It’s still says $25 in the App

        • I think it starts at 11:30am.

Doesn't seem to be orderable online. I've asked them on Instagram.

      • Ah, okay. I was able to order it online last year, so I thought it’s the same this time round.

    • No code. The discounted price should be calculated automatically. If not you’ll need to go and order at the restaurant for take away.

Which it isn't so, must order in-store. 🤷

      • I ended up placing an order in person at the South Melbourne branch. Would've been good to order online to earn some points, but anyway…

    Cost price 💲

  • Anyone order yet?

    • Yes, went to a store and ordered two. $5 each pasta

      • Which store did you go to?

      • Which store? Im assuming adding any meat is extra, so $5 is just vego?
EDIT - ignore that, i was only seeing the basic value ones!
        What did you order?

        • Pesto and carbonara ones

        • +1

The most expensive one is the Spicy Garlic Prawn, which is what I ordered.

  • Will try again tomorrow.

My store isn't currently taking any online orders

Tried another store to test and it's full price.

    Maybe can't order it online.

    • Malvern turned off online and new orders from about 6.30pm Wednesday, new customers told to come back later.
I was enjoying my $5 pasta dining in, ordered 6pm, pasta arrived 6.25pm.

      • Thanks. They currently closed online orders for all stores.

I'll go now for an early lunch. If the queue is too long, I'll grab something else.

  • Be good if we could get some clarification from the company?

You can order online now. The code is WPD.

  • Good deal. I live 30km west of cbd but this deal is worth the drive

Was told my order would be ready in 20mins. I've been waiting for over an hour. In Elsternwick. Had I known I would never have ordered. Severely understaffed and unprepared for the number of orders placed. Also no idea of time frames (I was told 5 minutes more 15 minutes ago!)

    • Was it at least a good meal?

      • +1

Unfortunately not. I would not have been happy if I had ordered during normal times and paid full price for the meal I received. I am not sure if quality was lower tonight due to increased order volume, or if this is usual for them as I've not eaten here before…but…I've eaten better tasting pasta from the supermarket for less money per serve than the $5 special.

I am not sure why I was downvoted in my original comment.

  • Oh no, when did they take truffle salami pasta off the menu?!

  • Does anyone know how long it takes on average for them to make an order? Thinking of ducking out on my half-hour lunch break but wondering how much earlier I should order.

Was about ten minutes for me last night at South Melbourne.

they turned off the promo code for online ordering due to too many orders lol

    • I placed a pre-order last night for pick up later today, so we'll see what happens…

    ONLINE ORDERING PAUSED

Went in store as soon as the south melbourne store opened.
Waited about 5 minutes to order and 20 minutes to cook.
Worth it for 5 bucks, can't imagine paying 20+ though

Picked up my order from South Melbourne also and received an extra pasta because they stuffed up my order.

    • Went back today, so much more efficient today. Had limited selection but the line moved much faster.

      • I'm in the queue now. What's the limited selection?

Edit: They ran out of chicken, so I ended up ordering prawn.

        • They only had speaghetti and rigatoni options for pasta. Cant remember all the sauces but they didnt have pesto and the baked gnocchi.

Richmond store is understaffed and the queue is out the door. Think this is going to end up being a very long wait.

Edit: feeling bad for the kitchen staff. They are really under the pump. Store only has 4 team members and 1 of them is full busy taking orders.

    • How long from queuing to getting your food?

      • Give or take half an hour from memory

    • +1

Been to the South Melbourne store a few times and despite the business of it all, the staff are still doing good customer service!

  • +2

Had the bolognese. Worth it for $5 but was really no better than a frozen meal.

  • +2

Waited over an hour last night in Elsternwick, however the Ravioli was delicious.

At risk of sounding like a salty OzBargainer - bit surprised that Etto didn’t seem to realise how many people might take up the deal.

They closed the doors at Richmond at 8:20 despite their normal close time being 9:30, people were just turned away, no voucher or anything. Only four menu options were left to choose from by the time I got to the counter. It sounded like the South Melbourne location was sending orders to Richmond for people to pick up too. FWIW my pasta was nice enough for $5 but I wouldn’t pay more.

Same thing at Malvern store. I ordered online around 10am for 7.30pm pick-up. Rocked up and was told It will be a 90min wait. Ridiculous…many people gave up after waiting for 90min and demanded refunds. Great idea, piss poor execution.

Was at the Malvern Store and placed our order around 5:30pm and ordered take away at 6pm. The line was already huge and there's heap of takeaway, but the good thing was that orders were completed in chronological order. Food came at around 6pm but then our takeaway we had to wait until 7:15pm.

No Spicy Garlic Prawn - it was sold out.

I swear I only saw a maximum of 5 people in the kitchen and that includes packing takeaway and one being at the cashier.

    But for $5 bucks I can't complain

  • Thanks OP! Been going to the South Melbourne store for pretty much every meal since Wednesday dinner. Pasta was amazing! Would I pay full price for it? Maybe? Feel bad for the staff with how busy it was but the customer service was still good. Kitchen is small so makes sense only like 5 staff there. Last night the queue was closed at about 6.20pm as they ran out of pasta. They can only store so much pasta in such a small kitchen. Props on them.
