    These are often $40 for the 700mL when on sale (equates to approx. $56/L) which I think is better value. I usually keep a bottle or two of these for guests who come over for dinner and know nothing about whisky (or don't deserve the middle/top shelf) :D

      Yeah this is a real issue. My take on this is rather than buy something dirt cheap get a mid-tier bottle you ain't tried before. For the extra $20-50 you get to try something new, if it's good you've learned something and can have it straight while they're mixing, and everyone is included drinking the same.

    Talking about duty free…

    I was looking at the Heinemann store.

    Was able to add 4 litres of booze and got a cart total of $193.
    Chivas Regal 12y Blended Scotch Whisky 40% 2x1L Twinpack
    Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Infused Gin 37.8% 1L
    Maker's Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey all for $193.
