I have these all round my home and office, good bang for buck and tiny

Also for people that have access to Good Guys Commercial website and want a similar GaN 30w charger, the Alogic Power 30W GaN Charger USB-C Black is available for $20.

    • I have access to that because my super (Rest Super). I haven't heard of that brand. Is that any better than this Ugreen?

      • +1

It is sold at nearly all local computer shops and even big retailers like Good Guys and JB HiFi so it has full local Australian distribution and support. That bodes well.

    • Amazon is best for returns for faulty even after years of usage.

Alogic is designed in Aus so I hope their internals are well designed

I didn't know that but I posted their wireless charger before. one user seemed to think they are shitty chinese products (inside?).
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/868073

        • Quite a generic comment. Hard to tell without an experienced user opening up and inspecting comments inside. Or if they often go boom.

(I bought a 67W 3-port charger for $90, it was the only option at the airport, I'm hoping it's decent because I had to pay the airport tax)

@Fobsessive: yeah I mean I saw the product more for it's quality of materials for a wireless charger. it's got a metal base like my Braun wireless charger, which is good for keeping it and your phone cooler compared to most cheap ones which are just made of plastic.

very similar spec actually to the Braun one I have and the Alogic's price is cheaper so something I thought would appeal to ozb.

    • I returned mine recently - the USB-C port was glitchy and sometimes would not charge. The USB-A port was ok

    • I have been using that model for a few weeks already and highly recommend it. The superfast charging on my SU22 works very well and the charger doesnt feel cheap at all.

    • +3

Users that buy single port chargers are just built different. This could be just hogwash but for me I prefer the simpler design, less internal electronics, less heat and no power sharing between ports.

      • +2

Same here. I hate non-single port chargers. I know it's probably not that bad as I make it up on my head, but I just don't trust that it's safe for my device's batteries. (Again, I have no factual evidence for this - it's just a matter of personal preference)

    • Thanks mate I think I need it so I ordered it

  • Whats a good cable to go with this? find it hard to find good usb a-c and usb c-c cables

    • +3

I like ugreens braided cables myself. Whatever has the speed / power specs you’re after.

      Anker

    • Any brand name with a local Australian distributor (not just an Amazon shop) and less than $10.

    • I go with cable matters

  • So nice and small it fits in the pocket 😭

  • +4

I wish we had foldable prongs like the US

    • Yeah the closest I found was a Zyron 65w that had folding USA prongs with a slot in AU adaptor, but the problem of having prongs poking things still happens to the adaptor so I gave up

not advertised as GaN but IKEA has 30W for $10 + $5 delivery (IME).
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/871728

also the IKEA 45W model looks very very similar in design to Mophie 45W GaN I posted before for $29 btw. the Mophie has been suspected of being made in the same factory as Belkin, so I think the IKEA 45W might be the same thing.

I have the Mophie 45W GaN charging an iPad daily and Eufy camera monthly and it has been going very strong 💪 zero issues.

    • Is PD 30W charger as good as GaN II 30W? Any difference in charging speed?

      • +2

30W is (at least theoretically should be) 30W. The only difference with GaN chargers is less heat and more compact design.

I would personally prefer the IKEA ones, even if they are slightly bulkier.

        • +1

, even if they are slightly bulkier.

I had a closer look and it does seem like the IKEA 45W one does stick out just a tiny bit more either side of plug compared to my mophie 45W. it's such a small amount though maybe a few mm?? which makes me think just the outside case it different.

          I can recommend the Mophie 45W GaN ($29 + delivery) and 67W GaN ($41 + delivery) models. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/834082
I have the 45W and it has been working very well for over a year now of daily use.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: I was comparing the IKEA 30W charger with this deal, but yes, IKEA is known to work with reputable manufacturers (their white goods are made by Electrolux, Bosch etc), so I wouldn't be surprised if the charges are made by a well known brand as well.

  • Has anyone found a review with information about how efficient these are?

    • I am using it right now… it just amazing charging speed, compare to apple OG

  • +2

GaN is so hot right now.
