      You heard wrong.

        • +8

Well if we're doing anecdotes, my last order was January, shirts are fine, ditto all the ones I bought in December 2021.

            • +24

@BargainHunterJohnnyB: Is your NDIS helper there? Can they come to the keyboard for a moment?

            • +3

@BargainHunterJohnnyB: If you've hung around enough on OzB, you would know these are regarded quite highly, especially at this price point. You make it out like there is some conspiracy theory here.

Yeah but they're not a brand name like Luis vuitton or Gucci, so how can they be that good then

So only luxury brand clothing is good? JFC.

          • +10

@GrueHunter: Seconded. Just received probably my fourth order within ten years and quality remains very good. Cant get better shirts for $40 odd. The only difference is the super slim don't fit me as well as they used to and that ain't the shirt's fault.

          • @GrueHunter: Legit. I have some from 2019 still that are in excellent shape. Vs the van heussens that were garbage within 12 months

        • +4

You heard it wrong from quite a few people then…

Do you work for Van Heusen?

            • +3

@BargainHunterJohnnyB: You had your say based on level 6 evidence (there is no level 6), it was wrong.

You have never used the product and have been corrected by multiple people that have actually purchased the product.

I don't even know why you bothered to continue? Just move onto another post.

              I literally wore a shirt I bought pre-covid today.

            • +3

              @BargainHunterJohnnyB: No you didn’t.

Stick to your Van Heusens and get shirty somewhere else. Leave the quality stuff to the flair players…

            • +4

@BargainHunterJohnnyB: I have been using them since buying a batch of around 10 back in 2016 during the $99 offer days. They have all held up fine.

        • +1

LOL… I'm not sure what kinda people you're hanging around.

Speaking for myself, I have been using CT for quite a while after getting miffed at the terrible quality and durability of so-called store bought "brand names".

I tried a few different online stores before settling in CT. It's hard to beat them for price vs quality. Not to mention that if you're not in the size ranges that tend to be popular in fashion stores, their range of sleeve & collar sizes makes business shirt shopping a lot less painful.

      • -1

It is actually correct. All of my CT shirts fell apart after 5-7 months. Collar is commonly broken apart and sleeves also.
I guessed they moved the factory to VN with less of quality control (late 2023 and early 2024). Now it is slightly better

        • Did you contact their support and get it replaced?

          • +4

@boomramada: I've worn my continuously for two years without any issues. They're always comfortable and sized well.

            • +10

@TiteR5: Could be time to give it a wash I reckon 😁

        • +1

I have had one collar tear after about 6 years. I (accidently) repeatedly washed the shirt with the metal collar stiffners inside.

I guess you got unlucky or your Washing machine needs an upgrade.

I also hang my shirts as they are non iron versions. YMMV if you are using a tumble dryer I suppose.

          • +2

@hypie: my washing machine is Bosch and I only bought it last year. Those shirts I have collar issue were bought during last 2023 and early 2024. Their collar definitely thinner a lot and low quality compared to some of my shirts (bought from early 2023).
I never use dryer as those are non-iron shirt

        • Fit and quality has been fantastic for me. First batch in 2018 worn 5 days a week until pandemic. Another purchase around 2021 and every single shirt going strong, worn at multiple weddings and formal events. Couldn't tell what is older or newer. Donated all my older non CT shirts as I had no need and they felt cheap in comparison.

I had a look recently and noticed they don't come with brass collar stays free any more which is fine as I have a dozen or so still.

          • @cyssero: Tragic about the collar stays… Just put in an order and will have to look through all my drawers and boxes of trinkets to make sure I don't lose them all. Thank you for the heads up.

      • +1

He's right though. Ct shirts can't compare to the quality of tm lewin shirts back when they were around. Feel like plastic in comparison

        • I've been using non-irons from both CT and TM for a long time and find they are both good quality.

          • +1

@carboncider: Maybe Ct changed the way they make them but the ones I got from ~2020 felt like thin plasticky polyester while the tm lewin ones always felt very thick and soft

          • @carboncider: same. Have had both, and both good - but found CT fit me better.

        • Agree. TM Lewin quality was top notch, but you did pay quite a bit more for the improvement.
For me at least, Ct shirts were fine for every-day shirts for around the office.

  • +1

Awesome deal. Got myself several casual collar shirts for $45 each. Seems like you don't have to buy exactly 3 shirts, they were all just $45 each - I bought 10 shirts in total.

    • +1

Did 5 for $225 a couple of days ago which includes delivery

  • +1

Just in time to stock up before we're all back in office 5 days

    • +3

Ai will send you back home again when you're replaced.

    • Can't wait to Teams chat with everyone in the office then f2f

    • Thankfully, I'm WFH 5 days a week still. Life is good.

  • +18

Missing those 3 for $99 with free shipping deals…

    • Bought a dozen of those back in those good old days and have since lost some weight in the waist, so most of them are baggy now. Wish I bought them in smaller size.

      • good onya for dropping the kgs

    • This will be the dream should it ever return.

  • Is there are any coupon code ? I am not able to see $135 deal. Seems I am missing something.

    • +1

Clicking through a cashback site seems to remove the offer. Tried to clear cookies, incognito, etc but didnt seem to help.

I had to use another device then I could see the deal again

      • Yep that’s exactly what confused me. I had items added in cart on my mobile and then thought I’ll go through Cashrewards and the offer was gone on the desktop site.

  • +1

Where do people get pants to go with these shirts?

    • -2

What are you talking about? The shirt is meant to compliment the pants.

You pick the shirt to work with your pants and suit jacket same as you would your shoes and belt.

    • +2

Their ultimate chinos are pretty good too man. Got myself a few pairs for $89 each

    • These $59.90 Uniqlo ‘ankle’ pants do the job and have my perfect 29’ inch inseam.

      https://www.uniqlo.com/au/en/products/E455492-000?colorCode=…

      • They are missing the last few inches. Scam

        ;)

      • Having both the Uniqlo and tyrwhitt chinos… The Uniqlo ones blow them away.

I have worn the tyrwhitt ones like twice since getting them, they are comparable in quality to Kmart anko chinos (I just got them out to have a look before posting and they are literally at the back of the drawer next to the Kmart pair, in the same colour) and the cut is not remotely suited for anyone somewhat athletic or beyond.

If you need the extra length then…sure, but at $89…you're risking an $89 single use item.

    • I usually get my pants from them too, although I did buy a couple of pairs of the Amazon non-iron ones and they’re surprisingly good. They go on sale sometimes too (depending on size and colour) so I paid $30.

Granted, quality control isn’t great. I got one pair that I had to get tailored as they were over an inch too long. I’m 6’3”, so they are massive.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Amazon-Essentials-Classic-Fit-Wrin…

    • Tommy hilfiger are usually well priced

  • Are there slimmer shirts than CT business shirts for around the same price?

    • Some of the slimmest Van Heusen Black Label are pretty good and slimmer than the slimmest CT.

I noticed though that the CT collar measurement measures differently (button to buttonhole vs fabric edge measurements) to the VH (a 44 VH may be a 42 CT), so if its collar limit, you may be able to size down for the CTs to get an overall slimmer fit.

Speaking of which, VH have a cracker sale on atm… will check if anything is post-worthy.

Edit - nah, seems like a normal sale. Was a 4 for $100 last month, or 5 shirts for $105 delivered stacking deals, which would be worth it for the black label ones, but now just "50% off, around $35 each.

      • Thanks! Usually im size 40 collar but CT only had 41 which is fine. But the slimmest fits are still too baggy. TM lewin was a decent fit 😭

    • TM Lewin "Extra Fitted" shirts were perfectly slim for my Mesomorph type body. CT "Extar Slim Fit" is the next best thing.
      Haven't tried other brands.

  • I used to buy their shirts a lot as I could get longer sleaves and body, but don't really wear business shirts much anymore. I tried their polo shirts and they are utter shite!

    • +1

I have bought 30 odd shirts from them over the years and they are great. Bought polos and they are horrible. Returned them.

Tommy is no longer good. Any suggestions for good polos? Lululemon are good quality but boring colours and limited range.

      • Uniqlo?

      • +1

best quality polo I actually find from Columbia or Ralph Lauren. I have the extra complication of needing tall sizes so my two choices are from a much more limited set of options.

      • +1

To my surprise…the Reserve ones I've got from DJs are doing quite well after a couple months so far.

  • +2

I prefer my Charles Tyrwhitt shirts over my MJ Bale.

  • I have some shirt, pretty good quality but
What are good budget polo t-shirt brands ozbargainers here would recommend??

  • Has the deal expired? I am getting 3 for $149

  • Wish the polos had a slim fit option, will give them a go anyway

    • Polos are not good.

  • -3

    CT Shirts are shitty shirts.

Bought and worn for 6 months. Then…. torn.

3 for $149? Money much better spent elsewhere.

    • +1

So what else would you suggest other than CT?

      • Last Seen
        Online Now

Evidently can't suggest anything, so their feedback on this topic is a mute one.

      • -2

Uniqlos better. Last 3 years and still not ripped.
TM Lewin great but no longer around in Sydney.

Basically, avoid CT because they are known with poor quality. Try other brands.

  • +1

They are value at $50 a shirt

However, CT is overrated, no where near the level of TM Lewin, not just fabric (feel, durability, breathability) but stitching, cut, and options too. Inferior in every way, but TM Lewin was very good so being inferior to it doesn't make it trash

    • Agreed - TM Lewin shirts are amazing quality and the fabric is so comfortable. I still have all the shirts I purchased years ago (before they packed up operations here).
Where CT are good but not great, and only when you factor in their sales prices (like this one) sadly.

  • How does their non-iron range compare to Uniqlo?

    • +1

Can't compare, but I love their non-iron shirts. I'm wearing one now in fact. It has never been ironed. I just make sure to wash with an anti-wrinkle fabric softener, tumble dry on crease-free, and hang immediately when it's dry.

  • Last timei tried to order i screwed up all my measurements and got 3 useless shirts. How do you all fogure your measurements out?

  • I'm overwhelmed by the range of styles that they offer. Any suggestions for those of us who enjoyed a few too many HJs and pizza hut offers? 180cm/100kg

    • +3

Filter the following in your search:
Collar length (super important if you plan on buttoning up and wearing a tie - you don’t want this too small)
Sleeve length (also important to not go too short)
Slim vs Ultra Slim vs Regular Fit
      Non-iron (preference for this)
French cuff (requires cufflinks) vs not.

Putting all these filters in will decrease the options massively, and will help narrow down the search.

    • @CacheHunter I didn't know handjobs can affect your waist line…

  • Love their non iron shirts and always wear them to work however for some reason they keep ripping on me near my elbow around 3-6months mark, has anyone experienced this issue before?

Support were lovely and replaced it all as they suggested the sleeve length was too short, but keeps happening even with their suggestion to go longer.

    • Don’t eat with your elbows on the table…

Elbows rip because you put too much pressure on that area - usually because the sleeve is too short. But perhaps you need a shirt with bigger shoulders /distance between the shoulder seams. Are you wearing a slim fit?

      • Nope just normal fit.

Such a shame as I'd be using their shirts alot more without this issue. If I go longer sleeve length it'll look weird with the suit sleeve length I have.

    • +2

      Yep! Same problem

    • Similar problem.
Around the arm and wrist area torn after 6 months.

  • Agree with other comments that the quality of these is subpar and they will also send you physical junk mail until the end of time if you buy anything from them (unsubscribing in your online account doesn't make it stop).

  • Haven’t bought shirts from these guys in about 4 years, can anyone confirm their sizing and fit hasn’t changed?

  • +1

Has anyone got a recommendation of getting TM Lewin-quality shirts these days at reasonable pricing?
The CT ones while I think are reasonable value, are not at the same level. I acknowledge that TM Lewin was probably underpriced based on what we were getting for our money 5 years back.

  • Can anyone comment on the quality of their linen shirts?

From some light research it seems people like them more than Uniqlo

    • Their linen shirts are pretty good, but wrinkle easily. You need to shake it well and hang it straight after the washing. And still need ironing.
I bought some few months ago. No complaints.

    • Beware if you are skinny and Uniqlo sizes fit well around your arms, CT might look very baggy.

Got 3 shirts delivered using earlier deal, had to return - wasted $24 on shipping :(

  • hows their oxford range?

  • +1

Goes perfectly with the rm williams corporate bros look

  • Thanks OP - this is good value at $45 per shirt. For anyone on the fence, I've been buying these since 2005 and the service is very good. You can return for refund or exchange within 6 months, even if you have warn and washed the shirt. I've found that once you get your size right, they're very consistent with fit and quality.

Have also bought Hawes & Curtis shirts over the years, and while I tend to prefer those marginally over Charles Tyrwhitt, they are typically a little more expensive.

  • +2

Their threshold for free shipping is too high. And their shipping fee is way higher than others

  • Website has been acting very strange with me.
I had 7 shirts in cart, priced at $45 each on my mobile.
Decided to use PC instead, prices jumped to $49.95 each.. weird

Tried again, new browser prices enabled Cashrewards are now $69 each + had to pay $19.99 for shipping…. ok no Cashrewards, back to $49.95.
Family member tried on mobile, they see $69.95 each too..

Went back to my mobile $45 each free shipping, no Cashrewards.
    Painful experience.

    • The website is pretty crap with the filtering as it keeps on giving me hope for my size, it seems they stop making any 38/89 in extra slim which was the shirt i've been buying for the past 10 years. NOT HAPPY JAN

  • Thanx OP, bought 9! Not even kidding. Hopefully $400 well spent. Tried on the fit and style in store overseas, so was just waiting for this. At $45/shirt this is better value than Uniqlo business shirts which are $60 (or at most $50 on sale).

  • Worth noting that some (but not all) of their "Liberty fabric" shirts are included in this. I think this is the first time this has happened, normally they are all excluded, so the only way to get them is to pay the full price of $169. I just placed an order which included two liberty shirts for $45 each.

  • Deal over by the look of it

  • Does anyone know how to get this link to work using shop back? The CT pricing using the shop back app is ridiculous!!!

    • +2

Use the mobile site. The offer doesnt appear to work on normal browser, so wierd.
I just bought 6 shirts including the normally not discounted liberty fabrics, 270 with free shipping.

  • Has anyone bought their polo shirts and can comment on the quality?

  • +1

This deal seems to have been overridden by the current buy 4 for 299 deal , which at that price they can f right off.
